Talking New RX-8 owner in NH

Whats up everyone! I just picked up an 04 Titanium Gray GT on friday! So far the car is awsome and am looking forward to learning more about it on here. Nothing done to it yet but that will change soon! Had an 04 Mazda 6s before and this is a totally different car in terms of ride and build quality. Heres some pics...nothing you havent seen before. Look forward to being apart of the forum. Later.

Very nice, tune it up, put some new brakes and rubber, and throw it on the track like NHIS or Lime Rock. You will have enough more fun.

Btw, one of the rare GT package cars wihout the appearance kit

Hi Ti:

Nice to meet a fellow NH 8 owner. Review the site as there is much to learn about our cars. Do you plan on driving yours this winter? If so, I HIGHLY recommend getting some snow tires as the stock tires will not get you anywhere.

Drop me a PM if you have any questions.

Welcome to the very small community of 8ers in NH and welcome to the even smaller group that puts their 8 through NH winter abuses. I wish you well with the all season tires, put I would suggest that you put about $800 or so aside for a set of snow tires. Also, pelase keep up with regular cleanings - the 8 can pick up rust, especially some underside components and the rear wheel wells, pretty easily if not cared for.

See U out there....

Congrats and welcome to the club! We're practically next door to each other (I'm a bit closer to Portsmouth), so feel free to PM me and/or drop by anytime for a chat or advice. I've done a reasonable amount of mods and track the car as much as I have time for. NH is a small RX-8 group, a bit spread out, but recently another VR RX-8 owner moved in a just couple streets over from me.

Hope to see you out and about, and BTW you're ride looks awesome

I am going to agree with Voodoo. If you plan to run your 8 daily through the winters of NH, I would purchase a set of good snow tires. I currently run Pirelli Snowsport 210's. Good overall traction in the snow and ice and decent/fair ride on dry roads. Also running a different set of wheels for winter as to keep my stock and aftermarket wheels prestine.

What do you plan on doing for mods to your 8?

Where exactly are you located? I go to Portsmouth everyday...I work at the shipyard. Its cool to have people close by with modded 8's. When I had my modded 6, I was the only one in eastern NH which really sucked! Hopefully we can get together for a white mountains run or something. Later.

I think the Pirelli 240 are better tires, they seem better than the Goodyears I had on the MBZ

Welcome, and it is nice to see others with 8's in the area, I wish there were more 7's but oh well. But ya I got my 8 1 week ago now. We should all get together, maybe go skiing this winter.

Count me in on some skiing I live close to Crotched Mtn (an easy mountain with full lighted coverage at night, the bar isn't much to get excited about but the beers are fairly reasonable), but am open to skiing almost anyplace on the weekend!

Welcome to the board and to the Rotary community! We've got a good group of folks in New England, if you have a question or issue, chances are someone here has been through it, installed it, broke it, crashed it (R.I.P SpeedRacer) etc. Spin9k and I have done some extensive modding to our cars, in different directions, but with the same goals in mind. Definitely drop us a line about mods you are thinking about and you will get two excellent perspectives.

Skiing?!? Did somebody say skiing? Where? Just tell me when and I'm there. I was just up in Vermont this weekend in fact and hiked Mansfield (Stowe) and skied fresh tracks on Sunday. Pure Utopia.

Bought my 07 GT Stormy Blue right after Xmas. Realised right away would need the snow tires after not getting out of the drive way. I'm running Blizzaks and seem to work great. Looking forward to meeting the little group from NH sometimes.
