NYC <-> Niagara falls... scenic routes PA/NY?
Hi guys,
My girlfriend is in town (in the country, actually ) at the end of September and we are taking a drive up to Niagara Falls (I live in north Jersey).
I will probably take 80 -> 380 -> 81 -> 90. However, I would like to break the monotony of the 6-hour highway trip a little by taking some scenic "detours", and I wanted to ask if anyone from the area knew any nice roads. Nice scenery (or possibly, nice twisties ) and ones that will not take us too far out of the way... Perhaps, cutting across from 81 to 90 to avoid Syracuse? Or anything else that you think could be interesting?
Anyway, thanks in advance for any suggestions...

Since you're in Jersey City, might as well head to Hamilton Park in Weehawken, which is not far.. The view of NYC is amazing at night with clear weather. (http://www.mapquest.com/maps/map.adp...ntry=US&zoom=8)
Oh.. and they have TONS of parking space.. which is a must for me = )

There are a lot enjoyable scenic routes along the way and it'll nearly be in 'leaf peeping' season. Here's a website that lists various scenic routes:
