NYRA Flushing Meadow Park Meet III on 9/17 @ 12:00noon
Well guys this is our last NYRA meet for the 2006 season. So this will be the meets to attend of all meets. By popular demand we have selected FMP, the parking lot across the lake. Everyone loved this spots. Everyone is closer to there cars, less people and we have a 1/8th strip.
The meet will be bigger than the last one we held there and had 44 Rotarys come. This time we will have more RX-8's, and upstate rotarys.
The upstate meet we had today at Bear Mountain got us really hooked up with more rotary ppl beyond NYC & LI. We are currently working with them to attend our final meet
So please come thru and lets close this year off with a bang
Thanks

Mid september meet isnt that bad becuase im still not knee deep in teh semester.
Also my VP, and treasurer and secretary all get more busy at work and are not as active.
Another reason is most of the club members are RX-7, and a great majority of rx7 guys such as myself take our cars off the rod once october/november hits. So it will be a rotary meet without the rotaries.
Also im setting up something for late september/october, getting together this rotary 101 class.
So those are some of the reasons. We do have winter meets ocassionally depending if we get the Army Armory in Jamaica queens.
But as of this year, sept is the last meet.
Next year the meets will be every second week (on SUNDAY) beginning in april and ending in september. 6 months worth of meet, not counting other rotary events such as Rotorfest, and Pan American Nationals and a few e-town events such as NHRA sport compact nationals and summer slam.
Its a full time job running a club, and theres not that many hands that are actively helping. THats why my occupation is "babysitting nyra members". Cuz thats what you have to do to ensure large turnout of rotary vehicles. Everyone knows this cuz they get mad IMs from me and mass emails BOMBS.
And i cant do work, school and club stuff, its too much for just one person or a few guys. As of right now working on the website, promotion, forums, calling ppl and selling cars / parts. ITs a lot of work for a few guys. I hustle baby! and i get stuff done!
But im getting so exhausted its not even funny. I can see why clubs start off and die off. We need more active NY members.

Hello Guys,
Yesterday's Bear mountain meet was one of the best in my opinion. We
had 39 cars by my count. Some of the pics can be found on the last 4
pages. Follow this link to my photo album.

The last meet for the 2006 year will be on September 17th 2006 starting
at 12:00noon.
This will be one of the biggest NYRA meets to date. The enthusiasm we
received in upstate was great. Our upstate members are working with the
new people from that region to ogranize one of the biggest events NY
has seen.
The parking lot we used last time we were at FMP was great. Fewer
people, more parking, and a 1/8th strip.
So please clear your calenders you have more than a month to prepare.
Dont miss this meet!
As always spread the word to your rotary freinds in New York. All
neighboring states are invited as long as you have a rotary your more than
welcome to join us.
We will keep you updated on food/beverages contributions for the next
meet as we get closer to the meet date. Directions will be posted for
those of you coming from Upsate, NJ, CT, MA, VT, PA
If you have anyquestions feel free to contact me, or the other club

As long as nothing comes up last minute.. I will be there so +1 LI 8.
By any chance do you have a map of Flushing Meadow to donate the exact spot. All I know of that area is Shea, every other time i have gotten lost.
