I travel around the state a lot for work, I sure have loved not dealing with snow. Watching my snow tires melt is just fine by me. Maybe if we think snow (like the 96 Blizzard) we can ward it off. Everyone together now...wish for snow to keep it away.
On the other hand global warming could mean we get to run our summer tires year round!

Went to the car show this afternoon and came away thinking it was pretty lame. The Mazda section had nothing special. It only had 1 2005 white Rx8. The tuner salon contained another Rx8. There were barely any concept vehicles by any of the manufacturers.

That can't be done as easily and changes the entire dynamics of going.

I went to the auto show on Sunday and was pretty dissapointed. Mazda's display sucked. They had the CX-7 and that's about it. The rep there tried to hard sell me on the CX-7. When I told him I wasn't interested, he asked me why. I told him it didn't have a stick, and it wasn't a rotary. He said "what about the RX-8?" I told him I had one and he looked at me funny (I'm a big guy).
So I sat in the white RX-8 and my buddy made fun of me saying "You have one!" (that made the rep take notice). I responded that I hadn't sat in mine today and just had to get my fix.
The rest was just as bland. I wanted to see the Aston Martin DB9, and all they had was the Volante and the Vanqusih. I was also looking forward to seeing the IS 350, but I had to wait forever to actually sit in one.
<RANT> I waited for nearly ten minutes while a mother let her two children (both under the age of ten) climb in and out and around a Lexus IS 350 - she never got in the car. At the adjacent IS, there was a family from Russia having salt talks on the IS vs the father's BMW. That's fine and great, just look at the damn car, sit in it, get out and go someplace else to talk about it!
Also, the last time I checked, most five year-olds did not have sufficient income to purchase a BMW 5 series. I, OTOH, do. So why the f$&k would you let your five year old sit in a BMW 5 series (the driver's seat, no less) while you're off looking at Nissans???
Parents, the auto show is NOT an expensive playground for your kids. Please do not let them climb in and around in the places where their little limbs and appendages could easily get caught in the various heavy doors and hatches. Not to mention, let them cause damage to said expensive vehicles, themselves.
Christ, people can be really, really stupid. </RANT>

When I was there Mon night, two 20-ish guys were in the Aston-Martin "compound" drinking slurpees all around the cars! Where was the A-M rep? How did they get in there? And why were they allowed to be sloshing their icees by the cars?
I wasnt impressed with the Mazda reps in the least, either, MR. Since I love the 8 so much, I felt like I should've been there selling it! (And I wouldnt have had the white on display either!)

I agree totally about not having the white 8 there. Why not a Shinka at least, or even better, a Mazdaspeed? Something that says "Hey look at us!"
Was it me, or did Subaru not have any regular STIs at their display? I saw some of the tuners, but I looked all around for an STI to sit in and couldn't find one.

Hey, RX-Gr8, good to see you lurking around! I think all our Philly area posts have been about meets lately. I all but stopped posting in the "spotted you.." because no one I spot is ever here. It can be lonely being an 8 owner!
