Elara,
Does your heatshield fix have to do with the AC heat problem? If so have they actually put a recall on this or can we just bring in our cars and get it done?
Thanks for the heads up

Good grief, is this the only part of the boards you guys read? Try here , here , and here :p.
And Hanzo, there is something with the baffles in the oil pan, and the sensors think there's no oil when in reality you have plenty- it's been a known issue in many of the early 8s since last September, and mine has done it off and on since then, but Capitol ignored me when I brought it up in October. I can't tell if that's what you're saying or not, since I'm not technically oriented.
Tick, I have no idea- they're supposed to be sending us letters starting Feb 27th about it.
About that using only certain kinds of oil- how much of that is actually because there's something in the oil, and how much is about a partnership with Mobil1? There are a lot of companies that use that marketing ploy, whether with cars, appliances, televisions, etc.

I was thinking more of the gasket seal itself between the pan and the engine. The oil pan design probably has a defect where in certain G load the sensor does not have contact with the oil. Probably a bad oil passage design.
As for the oil I am not sure if they have contract with Mobile 1 or not but I am sure if the engine have problems and they find out I am not using Mobile 1 they will not warranty it.

Peops... I just got home and I was horrified by what I saw..
The Executive from Philip Morris with the red RX8... her car was side swiped! It was horrible... It wanted to take a pic but jesus..it hurt just looking at the damage...
I think as soon as she gets it fixed..she needs to sell it.

I have heard a lot about the air bag recall but I cannot find any true facts about it. Rosenthal has not posted a TSB on it. If any of you have a link to info on this, what the exact problem is, and what vins are affected I would appreciate the info. And before Elara blows a gasket I did a search with no results hehe j/k Elara : )

When I talked to Cap Maz they read the list of what they had to do to the airbag over the phone. They have to re-do the whole wireing harnes to the passanger side airbag. They said it takes about 45 minuites per each re-call. But the heat shield by the catalytic converter so it has to cool before they work on it. Also they have to do every car on their lot. They said its like 50 cars...
