Arrow Rolex GT Series: Race 1 on January 26th, 2008

The first event of the Rolex GT series (www.nyrotary.com) will be on January 26th and will be aired on the Speed Network starting at 2:30PM (http://www.speedtv.com/schedule/inde...am=&usecal=yes , check local listings).

THe roster of rotarys vehicles has increased for this years series and all of the Mazda RX-8 are running 20B's.

Speedsource # 69, # 70

Goldwin Brothers Racing # 08
Racer's Edge Motorsports # 30

Hypersport # 40

Team Spencer Motorsports # 48

Also Speedsource (www.speedsourceinc.com) has joined with castrol and is rocking a new paint scheme (http://grand-am.com/News/Article.asp?ID=9417)

I will keep track of the Rolex GT series on the NYRA website (http://nyrotary.com/Pages/racingevents.htm)

Last years coverage can be found here: http://nyrotary.com/Pages/Rolex_GT_Series_2007.htm Mazda almost came in in the top 3 poll positions but after a crash during the final race dropped them down to fourth, so lets lend our support.

I think the race is on Fox at 1 on Saturday...watcihng the Barret-Jackson auction on Speed, and they just had an advertisement for the Daytona 24

Speedsource 70 comes in first, Speedsource 69 comes in 5th and Speedsource Built Racer Edge 30 comes in 10th. 3 Mazda RX-8's in top 10. We are moving on up.

The best part is that we beat second place holder porche by 5 laps.

A few of us got to run the track on Friday also...they brought us up to ~90-95mph on the straightaway since there were only 3 of us. The only bad thing was getting like 1/2 inch of hot tire rubber from the race cars stuck on my tires after 3 days of driving on the track!
