I'd say end of June/beginning of July. I'm leaving for college out in PA mid-end of August. August 22nd I move in.

But it is almost mid-April, May would be pushing the buttons to organize this. I'd be down to help organize this event. But question is where though?

Guys, unless a bunch of rotary fans start jumping up and down about this, it will become a mute point.

lol. yea that road was sweet. thankfully theres not much traffic and people around there.

i think if anything the date should be pushed a bit further since alot of people seem to prefer that and there hasnt been much activity regarding it.

I was just going to say this needs to be up on the other Rx sites. Last year i didn't even hear of this from this forum but from a fellow rotor head at a gas station at 2am! He got me so fired up i searched for it here, thats how it happened for me. How can we get this posted on the front page so we can get more exposure? Chris lets try to set a date in the true part of summer.

Perhaps we can have negotiation talks with the owner of the track to see if they will welcome us back. Perhaps Jason will still want to help in the planning phase. I believe he doesn't want the sole responsibility of planning it. It takes allot of time to get it worked out.

Either way I hope it happens this year because it would be a shame if it didnt. I would deff be interested in attending.

I'm definitely would like this to happen. I looked up island dragway and it's only about three hours from my house. I agree that the late june / early july would be the best time for the meet.

I told Chris I'm in 100% just like last year. To do this right we need to push this late into the season. July and August is just way too hot.

So if the track wants us back and we already have one sponsor on the books to get this rolling....lets get it rolling, lol..

I think a date should be established. Once that is established (w/the track and vendors) everything else should fall into place easily. Luckily Jason did such a great job at last years rotor jam (of course w/the help of everyone that pitched in) that he basically has laid down ground work for us already if you will.
I believe there is enough interest even in these economic times that we can successfully get another rotor jam going.

Im confident in you guys...I am more than happy to help out at the track like I did last year but as on now im not 100% if i will be attending due to financial reasons but still am extremely interested in attending.

OK so how about mid to late June? I think September may not be a good time since everyone starts to get back into work mode and back from vacations (and broke from vacations, etc...

If we could keep the RJ festival around the same time frame it would be great...maybe we can get the sponsors to get some tents donated besides the ones where they are situated in. Nothing too crazy maybe 2-3 tents evenly spaced apart through out the field so people can get out from the sun for a lil while. Maybe one in the FB/FC area one in the FD/SE area.

Perhaps we should also put together like a small check list for everyone that they can print to ensure they bring all necessities for the festival i.e. sun screen, drinks, snacks, tools (for the event someone breaks down on the way - lets face it we own rotoaries, lol, and perhaps some contact numbers in the event of break downs or what not. And with the list also include a can do and can't do to prevent any issues at the track etc.

Just suggestions....Obviously allot of it is common sense...but you know anythign to get people rallied up and amped up to attend to make this RJ 2009 festival a success.

Have we tried to contact MAZDA USA to see if they would like a hand in this like they did at Limerock?

i was aiming towards mid to late june...ill have to talk with everyone to see how that sounds...7club is waking a bit so it seems more and more like im going to go through with it.

which means chris..we need to talk more about specifics....especially with details with vendors..i want alot more this year...and i want to start calling around to see about vendors also not so car related...maybe get a stealer to come set something up...maybe music...

i would like to make this one crafted a bit more similarly to the MD BBQ if anyone knows what im talking about...well minus the crazy hook ups roy has with babes.....but as a substitute if kel comes you could just watch his iphone for the same effect

maybe get a photographer...idk...well talk tonight

Ok so who is on other Rx sites??? let us all know if you can post and spread this news. Next I think chris needs vendors, maybe some of the vendors here can make a few calls. I'm trying to get the best that I know to help out too. I think last year we started a list, would that help??
