yeah, except i wanted to bring my header to the meet so i can talk to you guys about how to get it to mate with my midpipe correctly.

teamrx8 designed it to go with his also custom made midpipe, so it uses a v-clamp and its off by about a 1/2". some cutting and welding is needed.

well its a one off. it was the header he made for BS. this header weighs somewhere around 5lbs. a 5lb header is not something i want to give up. i think his entire exhaust weighed less than 25lbs. he works in metal fabrication and really knows his stuff. afaik, he has a MS (and a PHD?) in metal related fields. he really knows his stuff. i really respect the guy.

someone bought the midpipe and exhaust, and someone else bought the header. the guy that bought the header went turbo. and when i expressed interest in getting it, mark gave me his email. i got it for an absolute steal.

i also have mark's intake. looks very DIY, but it works very well so i cant complain. furthermore, mark gave me his paypal once, a long time later when he was ready to send out his intake i had deleted his PM with his paypal. and to date, he has never given me his paypal again. like all his stuff, its super light. maybe someday i'll make it look a bit better. but for now, im happy with the fact that it works very well and weighs 3lbs.

Thanks again guys for comin out - nice to meet all of you. It was freakin COOOOOOLD but its even colder today with 100mph wind and its about -74F. I hate the cold. In case you guys didn't link it, "Falcons" in my name reffers to the Atlanta Falcons - the city of Atlanta is where I am from. Nicknamed "Hot-lanta". I dont do cold very well, as you can imagine.

http://viewmorepics.myspace.com/inde...lbumId=2469581

Hopefully that pic link works. I posted em on myspace in my album. If they dont work, I'll image shack 'em or something.

So, we'll do this again in the spring?

The Meet

Hey you guys....! For all that couldn't show to bad for all that did show it was great to get to know you all and the different mods you all have. I have a hell of alot more to go on now then before as soon as my build begins. Every single last one of you had something on your 8 that i was thinking of putting into my untouched 8 a.k.a (Roxaine). I want to set something up in doors for us to chill and share more info and ideas. Yeah it was freaking BRICK out there but i got a few ideas for the next meet in 09 so i'm looking forward to see you that came before and those who couldnt show... BTW DAN, hope all is well, im lookin for a motor for ya got some places to check for you hang tough. An for all of you that didn't know I got a shop i used to hang out at in nyc that does nothing but rotary. Maybe we can take a drive down there and get some info from the tuners for our cars over there, hopefully my boy still works there... Anyone wanna share some links to get good parts from good vendors email me the links... Ohh yeah and 1 more thing i might have a place for us to all go to to work on our cars IN DOORS... So just stay in touch...1

Well, after the g2g, I decided to move on...still going to get an RX-8 but I'm starting to lean towards a black sport. The way I see it, cheaper cost, I would end up doing a lot of stuff to the car that wouldn't flow with the R3 pkg. As I am going to start slinging parts for aerokits.net I am thinking about buying black. Why black...becuase red and carbon don't look right. The minute I buy the car - hood, fenders, doors (all 4), trunk, wing and bumpers will be Carbon Fiber. Roof and rear quarters will be custom overlays. 100% CF exterior. Oh yeah. I would end up lowering the car with some nice coilovers, bride seats inside and the wheels are undecided as of now. I have been sponsored by Rota since 2002, so I'm sure i will pick something in their catalogue. I would love to do 19" with a low offset and widebody, but thats serious money and I'm somewhat conservative.

So anyhoo...if you need anything, you know where I'll be. Body kits and Lambo doors. One I have the RX8 in my grasp, I will probably do some CF stuff thats one off, but I will be able to reproduce. I'll keep you posted on my adventures.

If you have any questions, or need any car buying advice, I'm here to help. If you want some aero parts, I'm here to help. You can PM me or email me at scrambling_qb@yahoo.com!

-What Red and CF go way better than Black and CF...
-Chaser Aerodymics is all knock off stuff,,, half way decent knock off but still knock off...
-Real CF overlay is expensive, and to do the roof your gonna have to remove the windshield and rear window to do it right..... Ive looked into this,,, Ive contacted the Greek and it was very expensive....
-Widebody would have to custom or RMagics no one else makes a decent one....
good luck though....
see ya at the next meet....

Actually, ALL kits (with the exception of a few) unless they are direct from a tuning garage in Japan are all knock offs of street weapon. I wouldn't even call them knock offs though. There are some kits out there that are garbage becuase they are copies of copies of copies; think photocopies, origional looks great, then a copy of that copy looks horrid, and so on. Extreme Dimesnsions, VIS, SEIBON, Wings West, etc. all come the same factory. If done right, you can get a replica RE kit for an RX7 that fits just as nice as the real over $10,000 kit becuase the mold was made from the real thing. $1200 for the replica that might need a little work, or $8800 for for no work and the satisfaction of having the real thing?? I'd save my money and buy suspension, wheels, and turbo kit and still have money left over.

i dont think so AT ALL.

i think red/cf looks excessively ricey. it makes me regret getting VR. blue or gray go really well with cf.

I think the record will show that Black Cherry Mica and CF are the best combination.
