lol. if you guys want to know whats going on pg 2 hers the subtitles.
Panel 1: *Matt is underneath the car; it can be sitting on jack-stands or on a lift - your choice. He is placing a wide bucket to catch the dirty oil*
Narration: [Engine warmed up, oil refill cap open, vehicle securely raised, chocks in place. Place drain pan under drain plug.]
Matt: "So, what made you choose the Aveo?"
Alexis: "My Dad chose it for me. He said he wanted me driving a domestic, not an imported piece of crap."
Panel 2: *Alexis leans in not far from Matt, interested*
Narration: [Loosen and remove drain plug. Careful.]
Alexis: "Why do you put rubber gloves over your other gloves?"
Matt: "The rubber gloves prevent soaking, and the mechanics gloves protect against heat."
Matt: "I actually own a Mazda, myself. Watch it, the oil's hot. Back up a little, just in case."
Panel 3: *Alexis is a step closer, trying to look at what Matt is doing*
Narration: [Place soaking materials under oil filter. Remove oil filter.]
Alexis: "Oh, I don't share my Dad's views; they're all just cars to me."
Matt: "To most people, that's all they need to be. I just find it funny. The Aveo was engineered in the UK by a South Korean company, and assembled in China, Mexico, India - pretty much everywhere except the United States."
Panel 4: *Alexis looks at Matt as he comes out from under the car*
Narration: [Let the oil finish draining.]
Alexis: "But then, how is it a domestic car?"
Matt: "It isn't. The company is domestic. Whether the manufacturing benefits the local economy or not is a complete toss-up. It's like buying a product that says "Made in China" - the question of who benefits is really complicated. I just ignore it and aim for whatever has the best quality."
Panel 5: *A simple, torso-up shot of Alexis and Matt talking; Alexis giggles and smiles. you can try to illustrate him taking off the rubber gloves if you'd like, but it isn't necessary*
Alexis: "Is the Aveo good quality?"
Matt: "Did your Dad buy it for you?"
Alexis: "Yes."
Matt: "Then as far as you're concerned, it was worth every penny."
Alexis: *giggle*
Alexis: "I guess you're right; I shouldn't look a gift horse in the mouth."
Panel 6: *Matt grins slightly, and points with his thumb at the Aveo*
Matt: "Um..."
Matt: "The oil residue on the inside of your engine will continue to drip for about an hour."
Matt: "Most quick-change oil places don't bother letting it drain completely. But if you'd like, there's a local diner we could go to for lunch. Kill some time."
Panel 7: *Alexis is a bit taken aback, but smiles vaguely*
Alexis: "..."
Panel 8: *His father stands cross-armed inside his office, leaning against the wall, with the door to the garage open next to him. Alexis and/or Matt is visually framed by the doorway; you can choose what pose they're in*
Tobias: "I'll allow it."
Alexis: "Just promise me you'll shower first, okay?"
