The RX8 is gone...got the wife a new car
Well, I sold the RX8....do I regret it? Not at all.....I loved the car but it wasn't faultless...I didn't sell it because I couldn't afford it, or it was a lemon. I have some goals and it didn't fit into them right now. I plan on getting another one in the future. Anyways, I bought my wife a 2005 Corolla XRS. I hate FWD...but it is an awesome, fun to drive, practical family car. It has the 8200RPM, 170 hp 2ZZGE, six-speed, sport suspension, 16" wheels, four-wheel discs, and sport interior. It still gets 30+mpg....awesome. Anyway...here are some pics.

OK....I'd never get anything but a Toyota product for everyday practical transportation. It has to be a sedan or wagon. TC....nice car...but it's a coupe. Corolla on an old platform?...the chassis is all new for 2003.....specs-wise it seems like a step back, it lost the independent rear suspension...but it works very well as a high-payload people hauler. I am the man, and stepped up as head as household and made a decision that was most beneficial to my wife and kids.....I don't have a toy right now, but I can always get one later....Rx8? maybe...we'll see...I'm thinking old school ride again....a nice 1st gen RX7 and do it up like I always wanted....Turbo 13B....yeah.....the new sports car thing was cool....but the novelty wears off after a while......

enjoy lift....i had a matrix xrs and it was hella fun....thats what i traded in for my 8....its peppy but only over 6k rpm....otherwise its on its first cam and you only get 135 of the 170hp....but you will be getting close to 30 miles to the gallon

Dude, I can't believe you sold your 8 for a Corolla!!! I still got love for you though. I love the high lift 2ZZGE engine in that thing, had a Celica GTS before the 8. Hope you still come around to meets and stuff.
This is becoming a disturbing trend. I think you are the 3rd or 4th person up here to sell their 8 this summer. Enjoy the gas mileage!

We had the exact car, color everything shortly after they came out. A very fun little ride bt unfortunately my wife has some pain that is preventing her from driving a stick so I had to trade it in on a Mazda 6 for her. I miss that car. Look good, fun to drive, loaded, power everything, sunroof, 6 speed, over 8K redline. I am surprised I don't see them. I have not seen 1 XRS, a whole bunch of S's but not the XRS. Why not go one step further and get the XRS? Strange, because brand new, loaded you can get into them for 16 and some change. I am thinking of sellng the 8 also and may go back to the XRS. Yes, gas was not a factor when I bought it but I am getting tired of dropping 30 + bones in it weekly and gas prices are getting out of control Not nearly the same experience but after a while the visits to the pump take the joy out of it.

You won't see me in any cool RWD sports car up here...I'm on sports car hold until I move. even then, once I do move I'm going to get a motorcycle instead of a project car.
I like my wife's ride....The 2ZZGE has become my most favorite Toyota engine, no, it's no 320+hp 2JZGTE, but it makes awesome sounds and moves the Rolla out decent.

Nobody buys XRS's.......Nobody drives stick anymore......yeah they are cool, but the average nurse or secratary couldn't tell the difference in engine power putzing around town, and they have no clue what to do with the clutch pedal.
My wife is rare...she loves the manual.....it's why I married her..... :D
