Last summer I put together an all car meet at Mt Trashmore. I'd like to do this again. here's what I suggest:

Date: June 11th
Time: 11am/noon to whenever
Place: Mt Trashmore
Food: Everyone brings something
Clubs Involved: RX8 Club, Tidewater NECO (New Merc Cougars), .....anyone else.


WHO'S COMING / BRINGING
Jers8 (RX8) - charcoal / burgers
vIce (RX8) - soda
Friend (Lambo kit) -
WildOne (RX8) - dessert / condiments / soda / etc
Woodz_8 (RX8) - chips/salsa

DIRECTIONS:
Take RT64 to Norfolk/Virginia Beach
Take RT264 East to Virginia Beach
Exit Independence Blvd South (exit 17A), and move into far left lane - go 1/2 mile
Turn Left on Edwin Dr (at 7 Eleven), should see sign for Mt Trashmore

WHERE WE ARE PARKING:
On Edwin Dr, we should be able to park in the 1st parking lot on the right. This lot is in front of the hill from Independence Blvd, on the west (left) side of the lake. If for some reason we can't park in those spots or you don't see us, please call me.


POSSIBLE CRUISE IDEA:
If anyone is interested in going for a cruise afterward, we can put one together.


I'd like to post online some of the pictures I'm going to take with my digital camera. does anyone have any decent amount of webspace? I can forward the pictures over to you. Some of the pics will/should be posted on this site.

I am turning into a junkie already! Just dropped 400 beans on JDM Clear Corners with stealth bulbs, Aluminum Fender Strakes, Chrome Front & Rear Rotary Accents (Appearance Package that my 8 did not come with) and the must have Chrome Rotary RX8 Valve Caps!!!

It is supposed to be nice tomorrow so I will bath her and take some photos to post in myGarage. I will also post new images after I install my goodies. Hmm, what will be next Exhaust Finishers and Mazdaspeed CatBack Exhaust!!!!

I just installed my Strakes this evening. It was very easy but the plastic fender grills are soft and I had to redo the driver’s side because the mesh actually crushed in on the underside where the retainer touches the mesh. This caused the grill to not secure snug and caused some looseness and rattle. With a bit of ingenuity I solved the problem perfectly and I am stoked with her new appearance. I feel like a pro at Strake installation now. I know what not to do at least!!! If it where not for my little issues I would have been completely done in less than 30 Minutes from start to clean-up.

I know the weather looks crappy for the next 2 weeks or so, but there should be few nice days in between if you all would be interested in meeting up somewhere.

What are the details of the Trashmore Deal? Any official site? Is it a definite? I will go is if so but I must plan in advance to make sure I have that time off.

At-any-rate... I am off tomorrow and Friday night. The weather looks like it will be good over this next 2 days. If anyone wants to meet up and take a cruze, I am up for it.

I'd like to be there...but I just today got 2 free tickets to Cubs-Red Sox in chicago that weekend.....first time they've played in 87 years...HUGE Cub fan here.....gotta go.

BTW, vice, sweet pics. You really have caught the fever, haven't you.

Last year everyone showed up around 11 or 12 - we met in the 1st parking lot on the right. We did try to block off some parking spots right in front of the grill area. Everyone brought something to share. Checked out the cars and took a few pictures - sorry I don't have any to post. It's an all car meet, so anyone interested is welcome to come. We had a couple of the New Merc Cougars, Subaru WRX's, a Jetta, and 2 RX8s. A buddy of mine is planning on bringing his Stage 2 Neon SRT this time.

If anyone wants to, we could plan a cruise after we eat.

OK, I can make it so I will be there. Prolly around 12 as I dun want to be the 1st one waiting. Do you know of what type of turn-out to expect?

Anyway, I think I will be going to that 4th Mid Atlantic MEGA Meet - June 4th, 2005 https://www.rx8club.com/ne-rx-8-forum-29/4th-mid-atlantic-mega-meet-june-4th-2005-a-62557/. If anyone from Hampton Roads wants to go maybe we can caravan up there.

I should/am planning on being at Mt Trashmore around 11-11:30am.

maybe I should make up some last minute flyers just in case, could start having an annual all-car meet out at Mt Trashmore.

oh - yesterday I met Ann in the parking lot of Harris Teeter on Colonial Ave in Norfolk - she has a Ti Grey too w/Mazda body kit, no tinted windows. and I passed a yellow 8 on Sunday in Ocean View.

Good Idea on the flyers. Get me some info ASAP as I just registers a new domain to start a local RX-8 Club www.hr8c.com . I will post that Trashmore gathering info up there. I have tried to get people interested, but in VB I'll be damned if I ever come across any 8's. This forum seems to be my only outlet for now. Once I get the site built solid enough, I will contact Hall & First Team Mazda about possible sponsorships and/or letting me place info in their dealerships for other 8 owners to know about it.
If you or anyone else is interested in joining up let me know. No solid details as to where it will or should go as of now, but until I get so members and input I will just plunk away on my own.

Also: I have a friend that has a Fiero/Lambo Kit car. He will be joining the Trashmore Meet.

Anyone got some suggestions on what to bring. Beers probably out of the question. Drinking and driving is a pretty bad idea. Chips and salsa always goes over well.

I've got a stupid question. Where's mt. trashmore? I just moved down here a couple of months ago and don't really know the area on the other side of the water too good. Can someone help me out. Thanks.
