I'd 2nd and 3rd that - - - the Glenn is perhaps the best track in the New England and surrounding area, and the most fun you can have with your 8 - - - you'll feel like a real pro - - - last year i went with my new box stock 8 and it was really an experience of a lifetime - if you can go - just do it - highly recommended.

Not yet. I'm still pumping air everytime I get in the car. I've posted a WTB in the forum but no luck. Monday, I'll be calling around to get a replacement for two tires
I was thinking about switching a pair to the Bridgestone S03's. I don't really want to go back to the RE040s.

So what happened to the other tire? I've got 4 RE040's in varying states sitting in my garage... I also have the S03's on my car, but there 245/40 not the stock 225/45, if you want to see what they look like... are you looking at possibly swapping all your tires out to to S03's and just need a tire to get you by till the rest are dead? Are you planning on stiking with the stock 225/45 or going to the wider 245/40?

Oh, and as a note, before you change any tires... get your dealer to order the TPMS rubber O ring seals (not the technical term... but I can find that for you next time I go to my car, along with the part #)... they are really in no condition to be reused when you swap the tires... they're not cheap, like $4-5 a piece (list at like $8) and none of the dealers seem to have them in stock. Talarico might have them now... I had them order a few the other day, and suggested they might want to keep them in stock as really you need them any time you swap the tires. The old ones, unless your lucky, are just in no shape to be reused.

I have a few of my old one's that are in ok shape and one new one as well at the moment, if you get in a bind and need one...

I also have a tourch wrench that does Inch Pounds if you want to borrow it when you get the tire changed... most tire shops only have Foot Pound torch wrenches that are way to strong for the aluminum TPMS stems and nut.

If it sounds like a metallic thunk, you probably have a sway bar end link that needs to be tightened.

Umm..thumping..not sure..but maybe knocking?? I had that and got a dealer tech to ride in the back seat and verify it by going to a real bumpy shopping center parking lot and going back and forth over the bumps... yup it was there all right....but they checked and tightened every nut and bolt, swaybars, struts, etc., couldn't find it...so after 3 complaints (magic number lemon law you know) they got the Mazda rep to come and he found a leaking shock, so they replaced both back shocks to keep things evened out.

But to tell you the truth, it's still there.... must be a polterguist... I just ignore it now

the only other thing I was told is the muffler hangers force themselves due to the rubber hangers close to the chassis in a certain spot, and may hit the chassis sometimes, esp on the rear passenger side. Might check that out, the tech pointed it out to me as he checked out my car.

Here's a mileage number for you.... I filled up just outside NHIS Wed morning, did the approx 80+ miles of track use - drove home - parked the car - went to the shopping center tonight, filled up just before home again and got 13.39 MPG overall (174 total miles at yellow light). Not to shabby!

How people get less than that in normal driving is beyond me, I mean that's about 1/2 of the total mileage of that fillup on the freaking track for gosh sake!

It's a little far away to say for sure, but it sounds like a good plan...I mean after all we all know the ropes there now, and with a little luck and some good weather... it would surely be a blast :D

Spin9k,
You've got me beat in the mileage department and I thought I was doing pretty good for a track day. I started with a full tank at NHIS and topped it off when I got to Concord and I had 11.3 MPG which is a huge improvement over my typical 7 MPG.

vwnh,
I'll be there on June 6th. As for moving up to the next level, I was under the impression that the instructors filled out a report on your driving and the next time you sign up for a track event they review those reports. Then they try to place you in an appropriate run group. If you feel like you are frequently getting held up in the corners by slower traffic. Your instructor should notice this and recommend that you be moved to the next level.

I like your spirit vwnh, guess I should do the same :D and get on the grid. How about anyone else who was at tech day.... it doesn't get any closer or easier than this...

Speed Racer... do you think they'll have us on the exact same loop the 6th?

If it is dry on the 6th, we would run the high speed banked turn instead of the south chicane.
