Im screwed!!!
I'm really screwed then. I got 5% all the way around except the front windshield. I've had them on for approx 1 year and been pulled over 6 times(no tickets) and only 1 cop said something about it but he was just pissed that I was doing 50 in 35. *Knocks on wood* Heres a pic.....Pretty dark huh????? Plus don't mind the rust on the rotors, just washed her!!

Yup Just like chris i had 20 all around and I actualyl went in for inspection and I failed miserably!!! The woman hahah working at the DMV said that in the state of NJ, that you can tint everything, but the front driver window, and the front windshield.... I even asked my best friend who is a NJ state trooper and he said thats right because the cops have to be able to see who is driving the car.... so I had the tints removed because it looked kind of gay when the tints are uneven, front and side 0% the other side and rear 20% hahaha...
Duke just send me all your fines, i'll pay them off for ya buddy

Hey, the cop bashing isnt right, not all of us are bad. Everone complains when they get in trouble but when they need us they come crying.
The cop was probably diggin for some other violation or looking for a drunk or drugs. He probably got pissed that he didnt find anything so he wrote you for the window tint. It isnt right, he should have not wrote it at all, its a crappy ticket, its probable cause for the stop, but a crappy ticket.
The window tint law is for our safety, you never know whats inside that car.

were not bashing cops in general.... personally I respect what you do.. But I think everyone on this forum agrees with me that there are just some cops who go out of their way to give drivers hell, and its worse for people who drive sports cars or luxary cars! to top it off if your young it gets worse because they think your just a spoiled kid... In general police officers I know are good....

It's 35% driver & passenger side windows & 20% back 3 windows. The back 3 are darker, of course. The cop didnt measure anything. SHould he have? I think any tint is forbidden in NJ.

I agree, with you guys, there are alot of cops out there that get off by giving people hard times. Believe me even as a cop those certain officers still give US hard times.
I wouldnt even remove the tints on the front windows. If there not that dark its not worth the time and the money spent.

Hey Alucard, some of your buddies have warped senses of humor too...
A while back I was a witness to an accident on I-95 here in VA. I was sitting in the front seat of the cop's car making a statement (with a Virginia State Trooper who looked about as old as Doogie Howser. ) As we were talking, someone on the radio was saying something like "Subject wanted static static white male static static North Carolina tags static static armed and dangerous static static ..." The trooper looks over at me with a really suspicious look on his face . . . then he breaks into a smile and says, "Nah, just kiddin!" (I damned near had a coronary!)

got me on 295 this morning...and it definitely wasn't a speeding pullover that I got a tint ticket for. I think the cop was just bored and needed something to do. lucky me
anyone know what the fine is?

Follow-up on mine. My tints are still on, 5 months+ later. I havent been hassled any more (probably just jinxed myself), but the cop who pulled me over cruised around me at the Sunoco station & gave me the "evil eye." I assume he's leaving me alone since I wrote a letter to the chief here in town. I just gave him the Duke stare back!
