Trip to Lake George

dee jays is a good spot to stop by for a few nice cocktails outside. The pizza place right next to the arcade on the strip is also really good. Forget the name of it, I was just there 2 weeks ago.

If your a hiker, East side of the lake has a bunch on nice trails to hike up to some spectacular views. If you like the views but not the exertion part to snag them, try Top of the World Resort & Condos at the south end of the lake (leaving Lake George Village, go past Million Dollar Beach and take a left at the end of that road; few miles down on the right is a road up the hill that will get you there). If you like golf, Top of the World has a strange little public course that also has great views.

Doh i live like 20 minutes south of lake george and would've went driving or something, as far as the area they have a bunch of outlet shops with good deals on clothes and shopping, and you have to try the food at the Old Post Lodge, it is REALLY good, everytime I'm in Lake George I make sure to stop in there, Also might want to take a trip on one of the boats around the lake, very relaxing. Also A fun Mini-golf course at Around the US/Around the world. "Six Flags" is decent but being an amusement park junkie Im not too fond of the roller coaster selection, Comet is a must ride and a highly touted woody but not one of my personal favorites.

Six Flags Lake George is very small compared to the ones in NJ and MA! I know it's a lot more built than it used to be when I lived up there, but it is small so don't expect anything out of this world!
Lake George Village has a lot of shops and restaurants. There are also some pretty rowdy bars and nightlife there from what I remember. It's been a while sicne I've done that!
Bolton Landing about 20 minutes up Rt 9 from Lake George is another very quaint lake town. There are 2 beaches there. One is Rogers I believe? It's almost across from a development called Herritage Village (where our house is). It's a nice park area, you can picnic there as well as basketball, tennis and swimming. There is another beach up further but I cannot remember the name of it. There are a few good resaurants in Bolton Landing as well. There is an Italian place if you drive through the town area of Bolton Landing, pass the fire house it's up on the right. I cannot remember the name of it for the life of me but the food is EXCELLENT and the view is supurb! Algonquin - haven't been there in years, used to be good, but my dad stays away from it now. Pumpernickles - great German restaurant. They also have a great deli if you want to get sandwiches and picnic. It's on Rt 9 before you hit the town of Bolton Landing. There is also the Sagamore Resort which is cool to check out. If you want a pricey dinner that's the place to go.
There are outlets in the area as well south of the lake. You can drive North about 2 hours to Ausable Chasam which is awesome. Great hiking and very tame short white water raft ride.
The lake is pretty cold this time of year but have fun! There is a lot to do if you are an outdoors person!
