Scott will be boarding a plane today for New Jersey. You guys enjoy yourselves and may you have great tuning sessions.

If you want to contact Scott for anything, please contact the office directly and I will forward messages to him while he is in transport.

Gas Price's...
MA: Decent right now near $2.80 for the upper good stuff.
CT: Always seems to be about .20 cents more than MA
NY: Dips down near MA levels
NJ: Again same as MA if not a few cents cheaper.

Those have been my experince's atleast so far in the few trips down to PA and NJ I've taken.

I arrived back at home last night at 4:00 a.m. I was crazy tired. My buddy and I had been going on about 4 hours of sleep the night before so we were both ready to crash on the way home. I ended up getting to sleep until the halfway point and then opted to drive.
But all was well. everyone went home happy
Al's 8 made 270ish horsepower on the dyno before the stock clutch started slipping, which was neat to see on the dyno.

The shop we did the work at i felt was really dirty and kinda gross, but it was better than nothing and they really stayed out of scotts way and were quick to lend a hand when we needed something changed.

Things I learned from being around scott for the better part of 8 hours:
Scotts knowledge of Rotarys is unbelievable, it seems like if your car is doing something funky and almost always knows without looking what your problem may be. I brought down one set of coils for my car. Thank god because he ended needing to use them right away! I learned how to tell if your coil is bad, which i had never seen a bad coil but now know that i probably need to check them a little bit more often than every 20k miles.

I really enjoyed being around Scott he really understands everyone isnt as gifted mechanically is him, and doesnt look down on you in other ways. My buddy is an avid Saab tuner and compared Scott to his tuner Franc from sweeden. His exact words after meeting him is. "heres a guy that knows what he is doing, but he is so humble about it"

I had a few issues with my kit that couldnt be fixed at that moment, but we did manage to get the tune completed with base boost before my 15k greddy turbo just descided it was going to quit on me. The drive home sucked because we needed to keep the car out of boost as much as possible. and we smoked like ive never seen a car smoke before when we were stuck in traffic. thank god i made it home! I feel like even though i didnt get 280 hp like i hoped. I still got my car tuned and will be getting the new turbo in about a weeks time. (scotts doing the greddy upgrade/rebuild)

I also want to give thanks to betsy for her great job in packing a goodie box for us 8 guys. Im quite sure that we used almost everything that was packed.

Thanks to everyone i met, you guys were all really cool, and hopefully i see you all again soon.

P.S. - this trip really bit me with the mod bug, i wasnt finshed tuning and was calling betsy to order some new parts.

DAMN YOU GREDDY TURBO's and your oil line restrictors.

Also Sergio didnt show up for the second day, kinda sad when he was the one who paid and set up most of this stuff. He never supposively finshed his tune for nitrous. too bad!

After fixing the minor problems with my car scott managed to obtain 20 more rwhp for me and on 87 octane. i still need to replace the 2 trailing ignition coils. But the hp curve is perfect. Scott went out of his way and drove me to the mazda dealer to get the 2 igntion coils they had in stock and even installed them for me. And i would recommend buying his spark plug wires and BG 44 cleaner that he sells. During the tuning session i learned that before you buy or do anything to your rx8 consult scott he knows what he is talking about. I know i am jumping around a lot but also buy his cooling fan control kit. i saw the numbers before and after first hand and it works. thanks again scott

Thanks Scott, invasion08, VarneyMazda, and smrx8.

I've been waiting awhile for Scott to come to NJ again. My 8 runs fantastic! and I have a much better fundamental understanding of the Interceptor and how powerful it is. A great experience to meet forum members, watch Scott work his voodoo-magic, and observing the dyno/troubleshoot/tuning process.

After some fixes 1) pulled my cat element that was falling apart and 2) setting manual mode on the profec e-01 boost controller, Scott managed 271whp before my clutch started to slip. My stock clutch is driveable but can not handle the newly found power. Any clutch suggestions?
