Urgent: 24 Hours to Stop Fare Hikes
Tomorrow may be our last chance to stop the fare hike.
On Wednesday, the New York State Senate is set to vote on a plan that would fund the MTA and prevent fare increases of 25-70% on Metro-North, LIRR, NYC subways and buses, Long Island Bus and the Bee Line.
If this vote fails, fares will leap upward on May 31 and all types of transit service will be drastically cut. Our campaign got us this far, but we need to use these final hours to pressure every last State Senator to vote the right way.
Together, WFP supporters have already sent over 24,000 messages to Albany urging legislators to do the right thing and halt the hike - including more than 3,000 in the last day alone.
Help us reach 25,000 before the vote tomorrow. Can personalize and send the message below to 3 friends?
Thanks,
-Dan L. and the WFP Team
Hi -
There's been a lot of talk about the MTA's looming 25% fare hikes and service cuts. But now, Albany is poised to pass a funding plan that would save transit riders from the worst of the cutbacks.
They're set to vote on the plan tomorrow -- but we need to make sure Albany hears from New Yorkers before the vote that another round of fare hikes is unacceptable.

Thank you for helping win this fight. Every voice counts.
