VA - Just got one
Hey all. I just got my 8 this weekend (Red /w Black/red int). I've been reading the forums for a while but now I've become a member. I normally down south by Virginia Tech or in Northern VA in the Oakton area. Just wondering if anybody else is down near VT. Good to finally have my own!

Unfortunately, I am only in Oakton over weekends; work/classes keep me busy the rest of the week down in Blacksburg.
On another note, I just bought an AEM CAI from eBay. Yeah, I know, havn't had my car for a week and already buying parts. I just couldn't pass up the deal. I got it brand new for $117 and change and taht includes the shipping. Can't wait to get it.

Might be reviving a dead topic, but didn't want to start a new "just got my 8 in VA" thread. Anyway, got's me my dream car (almost) Lightning Yellow pretty stock so far. I got it used so I'm not sure everything I got. I've got the premium sound system and the fancy mirror. But no power seats or anything like that. Going to add the mazdaspeed spoiler, some tint, and some black HP evo rims. It came with the chrome gas cap, but that has GOT to go. I'm in the Northern VA area right this instant, but driving down to Hampton Roads for thanksgiving. Currently I'm stationed in Fallujah Iraq but I'm on two weeks R&R, so I head back over early december. Just wanted to say Hi all.

Charlottesville VA here! I am desperately seeking an 8 meet in central VA. If anyone thinks this is a good idea? Let me know and I will schedule a time and place to meet. Send me an e-mail if you have any questions.
THanks!

We have a monthly meet in Columbia when the weather is warmer.... The folks in Richmond have a meet on Fridays.... they have a thread in the NE forum about it. The DC/MD/VA Mazda Sportscar club has a meet on the first Wednesday of each month... usually an announcement in the NE Forum.

Thread died for a while ... here is a pic-me-up. Thinking about spring in 2 or 3 months here in Virginia.
Still looking for someone in central Va. - Lynchburg, Roanoke and Charlottesville, someday hitting the Blue Ridge Parkway.

Hi guys. Looking to buy an RX-8 and I was just wondering if there was a local dealer that anyone here could steer me towards? My dealer experiences locally with Honda have been absolutely horrific. I know there is an entire section about buying experiences but sifting through page after page of west coast and midwest dealers to find one I can actually get to hasn't yielded many results
I'm just hoping to buy my 8 from a dealer that 1) doesn't d!ck you around, for lack of a better term, and 2) treats their customers honestly and respectfully. I am not opposed to travelling in order to give my money to a dealer that really deserves the business...I'm not opposed to travelling a good distance to accomplish that either. Any help you'd be willing to give me is greatly appreciated.

try emailing the local dealers and have them give you quotes over email, may take *some* of the hassle out of dealing
www.arlingtonmazda.com
www.fairfaxmazda.com
www.alexandriamazda.com
or, if you don't even want to do *any* bargaining, check out www.fitzmall.com, they have some pretty good prices for a 'fixed price' dealership. Their Mazda dealership is in Annapolis, MD though.

I'll agree with Zoom, most dealers have their inventory online. They have a designated salesman or two for the internet sales. You can get as many comparison prices as you like, then travel to get the one you want. In talking to the internet salesman you may find you like him/her without having to meet them. You can drive the cars locally but you may find what you want elsewhere.
The real challenge comes when you are trying to find a good dealer for service!
