Well we didn't get any snow here in MA. so I might head down. Does anyone from NY, NJ, PA know if any of the interstates (I95) was salted? If not and I get out of work early enough I'll dig my 8 out of storage.

Ok. I pulled the 8 out of storage and I'll be heading down. Is anyone getting there early?

Got rooked out of a half-day off due to company politics, so I missed the run.

Pics, report, what happened? Masochistic 8 owner wants to know what he missed...

Thanks to all who were able to make it out. I'll be getting pics up on the website: www.chantillymazdaevent.com shortly. If anybody has any pics they'd like to submit, put them here or email me at bill_blaster@hotmail.com, thanks!

It was a great event, the Mazda execs were very pleased and this should lead to future events in 2009

It's 3am and I just got in . I want to say a big thanks to Bill for organizing the show. Great job man! It was an awesome turnout and the judging was intense. Also congrats to Frank for taking 2nd place in the show! It was nice to meet everyone. Well, 26 hours and 900 miles - think I'll call it a day!

I'm going to see when I can get the photos taken by the hired photographer of the event and the ones taken of the awards ceremony. My awards pics turned out really dark and blurry.

I'll get the other pics up this evening though. Thanks again guys for attending!

You got some good pics in there! I'll be updating the website tonight so you all should see the pics this tomorrow morning. I have about 20 pics myself, and I'm hoping to get about 20-30 more from the dealership....

That last pic is actually pretty cool - dont know if it was on purpose, but very artistic!

You guys did a better job with the pics than I did, lol!

I'll be getting these up on the sites so that the guys from the other forums/groups can check them out too...

I think we had 5 8s in the show, but there were 2 - 3 more who came by to hang out for a while.

All in all, there were more than 20 cars in attendance, plus a miata, lol....

I've updated the website with some of the pics. Not all are up just yet, but I'll get as many up as I can.

Also have some video up from our after-party at Allsports Grand Prix! I can now say I've been on the same "track" as John Walko

www.chantillymazdaevent.com

Thanks again guys!

Hey Bill, those videos of you guys carting look cool. I wish I could have stayed for that. Was there a good turnout?

We had a group of probably 10 people carting with us. John Walko's group (3) myself and guys from the show (4) and some Mazda Sales team (3) - its a great arena. Since John Walko does outdoor carting in PA and Allsports Grand Prix is the VA track - it was great that they were finally able to meet in person...

I'm still working on getting some photos up on the website. I should be getting the photos from the photographer sometime this week - Robert had to go to CA but I'll get them from him when he gets back as well as the judge's comments, etc so everybody will know how Jim and Robert feel about their cars. There were a lot of close scores (after 1st, lol)...

Yup. I'm bringing this thread back alive for a minute.

Just wanted to let everybody know I updated the site with some extra photos. Nothing too spectacular, but just additional shots from the photographer that was there... unfortunately, we're keeping some of them "offline" for now for future promotions.

There is talk of another event in the spring/summer. I'm working on buying a home right now, so it'll be sometime after April/May.

I will probably get other Mazdas involved, but if we do that, there will be a rotary class only to keep things fair.

Either way, thanks again guys. Hopefully everybody is enjoying the freezing cold!!
