VT Spring Run 2006

It's on for 2006!

http://forum.miata.net/vb/showthread.php?t=167993

Hey All:

It's time again to start thinking of warm,
top-down days spent with friends in the
beautiful mountains of Vermont!

This year's Spring Run will be held Saturday
June 3rd 2006.

We again have a block of rooms reserved at the
Commdore's Inn for June 2-4th:
http://www.commodoresinn.com

Rates: Single: $78 Double: $88

Includes: Rates are per room per night
including breakfast.

Extra Night: for those wanting to stay for extra
night midweek, the rate will be $68 for the
single room & $78 for a double with breakfast.

Call 1-800-44-STOWE(78693) to reserve
your room.
The group name is "NH Miata" or reference
Chris and Molly Huot to get the group rate.

So far, lunch will again be at the Fire and Ice
Restaurant
http://www.fireandicerestaurant.com , but
might change. I am researching some possible
new roads through some friends in the VT
SCCA and the route might change alot.

We am really looking forward to the Spring Run
- after not having a Fall Run last year, it's been
far too long since Molly and I have seen many
of our friends!

Feel free to post here or Email me with any
questions.

This is definitely a good run and I'll try to get there again. It would be interesting to see (hopefully) a new '06 Miata or two in action.

Welcome 9k RPMS! What year is your 8?

I grew up in your neck of the woods, well mostly in Lyme and Hanover, as well as on Lake Mascoma.

I see you posted up on the coastal drive part deux, which is actually the first run I ever did. SpeedRacer was instrumental in getting me to go on that first run as well as this one. He lived up in the Lebanon area, and would have been one of the first Red 8's in the state, if you ever spotted "Zia" around the area, that was his car.

Unfortianatly, SpeedRacer has moved on to warmer countryside... Arizona... but both runs should be excellent!

The coastal drive will be a smaller run with primaraly all 8's. This was probably the first real get together of 8's in NH, the first time we did it, and it was a great way to get to know a few of the other 8 owners in the area that you occasionaly pass.

The spring run is a bigger and more organized run, that covers a bit more ground. It also includes a bit more time to mingle and really enjoy some great curvey VT roads. Most of us will head up to the hotel the night before the run, have a few at the bar and head to bed early... the next day is of course the run with a great lunch in the middle and Ice Cream later that night for those that still want a bit of an adventure later in the day. Saturday night is a more grand get together in the hotel bar then Friday night, with most everyone from the run milling around and chatting... I would not miss this get together, it is a great chance to just hang out and socialize with some great people, who love cars. Finally Sunday, we all head off home, often stopping at Ben & Jerry's or the Floating bridge on our way. But usually Sunday is small packs of cars heading in there respective directions, so it is a bit more up to you to do as you like or join up with the people you met the day before and make your way home.

As for your question about are 8's welcome... Definatly! We have had a showing in each run since 2003, with our numbers slowly increasing with each run. The pack is predominantly Miata's, followed by the 8's... but any sporty performance car that can really enjoy the twists and turns VT has to offer is welcome. Last year there were enough of us 8's that we ran as our own group... with one Mini in the middle of the pack He did a great job of keeping up and was a blast to have with us.

I look forward to meeting up with you this comming weekend, if you have any questions, please feel free to send me a PM or post them up!

Oh, and to all those that live alone my path North, I will probaly head up Friday night, like last year, and stop in Lebanon NH for dinner before heading the rest of the way North to the Hotel. If you are intrested in meeting up with me and carevaning our way north, just post up where your coming from and we will figure out how to get everyone together.

Last year I believe we met up in Nashua, and I think the NH liquor store on i93 before arriving in Lebanon where we met a number of additional people for dinner and continued on our way. It seemed to work out well and was a lot of fun so let me know if your intrested and I will see what I can put together!

Of course if anyone has Idea's for a restraunt off 89 around the NH/VT line, I'd be glad to here them!

Hey all! This thread has been kinda dead lately so I wanted to post some life into it!

I am booking my room today and my wife and I are very excited about this run. This will only be my second but the first one I went on was so fun...despite the cold *** seacoast!

I'm curious to see how many 8's and Miatas are attending. I wanna see mods, styling ideas, stereos.... YOU NAME IT!

I'm a rookie owner still (2 1/2 mos.) but I have loved every minute of my car! Despite horendous gas mileage sometimes... Guess you can't have your cake and eat it too. Don't know if I'll have any mods I have planned done by June but hopefully!

Let's have a good time and make all them hillbillies gawk at our cars as they fly past! (former hillbillie here)

Astral, sorry you can't make it this year but I'll keep your name in mind for next year! LagunyMyata does a spring run as well, though not every year. If he does one this spring, I'll make sure to let you know!

Sorry guys, I won't be able to make this one. My sister graduates from college that weekend. I'll hopefully be out of hibernation sometime soon, most likely when I can reinstall my suspension. I want G-Force to do a 4 wheel powerslide for me!

What's up wth this, no response from RPIRX8, doesn't sound like you bro....Hey Tigger, looks like we might have a 3000GT tagging along. Also, a young friend who has an 06 Civic wants to come along. He loves the 8's a want to take part in the run. Ti-gray, and a WRX will be in tow as well.

Excellent! The more the better... however I would comment that this run is for high performance sporty type vehicles, not SUV's, Trucks, Mini Vans or family type cruisers... There is usually one group that runs a bit more leisurely then the rest, and of course safety is always a top priority!

This is not a run for anyone looking to race or be reckless. If a vehicle joining us on the run can not perform safely with the other cars on the run, it will slow the pack down (as the pack will only move at the pace of the lowest common denominator), or be asked to join a more leisurely pack. All groups are a blast and will provide a fantastic drive along the same twisty route, so please do not try and out perform your vehicals capabilities.

I look forward to seeing everyone on the run and I'm getting very excited!

With the # of 8's comming, it looks like we will have a pack of mostly just 8's as we did last year! Perhaps with one or two other fun cars stuck in the middle of our pack!

As always, if you want to attend, but you don’t have a car that seems to “fit in” why not ride shot gun with a friend on the run, we'd love to have you join us!
