Are we a region of posers?
Look at our stickies - Meet here, Meet there, Get together on this date...
Look at the SE Region Stickies -- Track day here, track day there., track there..
I wish I lived in the South or at least on the Maryland - Virginia Border...
Come on folks, let's get it together up here and get to the track in mass.

Can you please change the title of this thread, it is kind of ridiculous.
It is still early in the season. I only know 2 or 3 people in New England that have been to the track so far. Things will get kicking in June I believe. I know Spin9k had a thread up about track days with the Audi, Porsche, and BMW clubs as well as the SCDA.

Well I know that most of the other regions have easier access to tracks than our region in general plus the weather is nicer alot earlier in the southern regions.

He's as bad as Can
I think WillHave8 has a point. In two years of tracking my 8 I have only seen another RX-8 once. Maybe the people that buy 8's don't have the extra cash for NE track time? I have four tracks i could go to, Pocono, Watkins Glenn, Lime Rock, Summit Point. What does tracktime cost elsewhere? Two days at Watkins Glenn cost me $470 ( 8-9 25 minute runs ) What is it at other tracks?

The clubs that come to NHIS, the price's range between 180 to 235 dollars. I have seen about six or seven 8's at NHIS. I started tracking last year. This will be the 8th time for me. And it can get a little expensive.

I've only done one track day, but my schedule doesn't allow me to do many others because said schedule is filled up with auto-x days (which the 8 is a very capable car at doing). On top of that, some of the track days I'd love to do require time off from work for me... so that kills it right there too.
This October, I hope to also be doing a hillclimb with it. (http://www.hillclimb.org)
I post auto-x dates all the time in here trying to drum up interest.![Smilie](https://www.rx8club.com/images/smilies/smile.gif)
The schedule of the club I auto-x with can be found at http://www.ner.org
And many around here may not post that they've been to or are going to events because they're concerned of some kind of retribution by their ins companies if they ever found out through a posting.![Smilie](https://www.rx8club.com/images/smilies/smile.gif)

I keep threatening to do some AutoX and would like to later this summer. My first priority is on the HPDEs though. I have done AutoX with a first gen many many years ago and in comparison the action to sit around time is much more favorable for the HPDEs.
Hillclimbing sounds intriguing but I am hesitant to do anything that is timed at the speeds that a hill climb or track event can reach. Autox is less of an issue.
The is big hill climb in Wilkes-Barre PA I have heard about but never seen. That is within an hour of me.

If we can get a meet for the NYC rides going on June 3rd Jones Beach at 2:00pm I'm sure we can get a bit of organisation going of for people like me who are pretty new to NYC but needs to find a autox verteran to follow to the tracks. I autox'd at least 4 times a season in my home town of Toronto Canada but I have no idea where the events are held in the NYC area.
I sincerely hope that posting meets does not qualify as a poser. It's still pretty early in the season....
