Well I got my first ticket in a long while...
26yo been driving since I was 16. Got my first ticket in a long time and it wasn't a pretty one.
I was coming down an onramp to merge into traffic and I hate getting stuck behind SUVs like nobodies business. Anyway, I gunned it to get ahead of the guy and he was most likely already going 10-15 over so when I passed him I was easily speeding...
I started to slow down and low and behold coming from the other direction 5.0 He said he clocked me at 79 in a 55. Which means he caught me just as I hit my peak. :-/
I just moved into the area from out of state and he told me if I didn't get my license before the court date, VA wouldn't give me a license at all. :-/
Now what I wonder if there is anyway I can get this thing to come down some. If it goes on my record like this, insurance is gonna kill me. I have a baby on the way, and I made a stupid mistake. I should have just gotten behind the stupid SUV.
Anybody know a lawyer that can help me?

1st dont listen to your sig
j/k of course
seriously fight it at court if you have a good record and
speak to the prosecutor that you are willing to pay any surchares, court fees, etc. you will have to plead guilty though.
