It really seems like Mazda has the problem taken care of at this point, so I'd say you should be safe for a while with a new engine. It'll have the latest flash from day one of use. Proper maintenence should keep you in good health for a long time.
And if you're near 80k you won't get sh8t for the car anyway, so why get rid of the fun?

If they are giving you a new motor, take it. Do the proper maintance to it, do a little MMO in the gas to give it that extra lube. It looks to me that your an auto xer so you probably beat on her a little.
Oh, DMC I like your little one flipping us off!

Psssh - too bad you didn't pop the engine at 90k, but you're also really lucky it didn't go after you had used up the factory warrantee but before the extension came through. Now, you'll have a 75k car with a 0k engine. 25k is probably enough miles to makes sure you don't get a reman that's crappy so you're basically getting a fresh start 75k miles into the car. Inconvenient, yes, but not too bad. I'd second the premixing idea as it'll decrease the chance of your engine ever seizing again and maybe an RB gauge pod (water temp/oil temp/pressure) to keep a close watch on how your engine is running.

Definitely keep the 8. If you properly maintain the engine (oil, shutting off, etc.) with a new motor, it'll last hundreds of thousands of miles. Oil is the most important. But if I had to choose, KEEP IT.

well after having a large falling out at the dealer today I went stright over to a Nissans dealer and put in a request on a 350 z I will be trading my car in for tomorrow. the dealer mad it clear that fixing the recalled motor was not what he wanted to do so I say he will not have to worry anymore about it with me. I will miss my car alot but has just been having tomany problums for a 4 year old car to have.
