White light in clear corners Okay in MD
Just researched the law covering side marker lights and Amber or White are acceptable. I think the white is much nicer and you don't have to pay for a set of Stealth bulbs.
MD Title 22 Transpotation Code:
22-221(a) SIDE COWL OR FENDER LAMPS - Any motor vehicle may be equipped with not more than two side cowl or fender lamps that: (1) Emit an Amber or White Light without glare, and (2) Are located at or near the front of the vehicle.

Interesting. That is a relatively new change. The last time I had to fight that ticket in 2001, the law still required that the marker light be amber.
I only got off because the officer insisted that they needed to "reflect" yellow, which they did not. Only the rear needed to reflect any particular color (back when most cars still had rear marker lights that were separate from the tail light assembly).
I'm sticking with my regular amber bulbs because I like the look appears white until you turn them on.
Now if you are talking about the turn signal lamps (in the headlights), that is a different story. They still need to be amber by law.
It is illegal to have any light that is capable of flashing be any color other than amber or yellow.
