Who took the Firefighter's Exam here?

I know there is at least a couple here that took the Massachusetts Firemen Exam here. I got my scores back a month ago and I did really well. I got home today and I saw the standings online, needless to say, it's not what I hoped for. I knew that they preferred a veteren but I didn't know that it pushed me back in the standings that far. I got a 9 on the test and 47th was my highest ranking.

Like the police several factors determine where you stand, though having been in the service as of late seems to bumb your *** up several place's. What town/city did you apply for.. hopefully several. My brother who is a Cop right now applied to Walpole, Norwood (his hometown), Quincy, and Braintree. He was 12th in Walpole, 6th in Norwood, 20 sumthing in Quincy and I forget about Braintree.

Did you apply in your hometown btw? At times they do bump up the local boys a bit faster than non-local.

I got Quincy, Weymount, Boston, and for some reason they changed my Randolph to Cambridge. I don't even want to tell you the ranking for the rest since it's pretty embarrassing. But 47 was my highest since I live in Quincy right now. I don't think Braintree takes part in the Civil Service exams, they are like a state of their own.

Damn.. in our own home town to.
And Quincy has a few fire house's I'd imagine.
Try a few of the suburb towns, Canton, Norwood, Dedham. They are not much of a drive if your in Quincy. Oh also have you taken any EMT type classes? Friend who comes into my store alot said he did the training and it helped bumb him up a few.
