window tint in central CT
I am interested in getting my windows tinted somewhere around Wallingford, CT. Does anyone know any good shops around the area and how much it costs here for the back and back side windows?
Thanks

there's a place down in milford if you want a drunk guy to maybe do it in a period of a few days and then flake out again. sorry, had to add that for the few of us who got suckered into that one (my fault for finding the shop).

when you do find a shop, see if they'll give you a group discount... i wouldn't mind getting my windows tinted.

I went to sun glory tinting today. the regular price with a one piece back window is 229 he said 199 whole car with at least 5 cars. The 1 back and 2 rear sides would be 169. I don't know if anybody else knows of any other good tint shops around. This shop is located at 301 berlin turnpike berlin. There open on sundays to not many shops open on sunday. http://www.myspace.com/sunglorywindowtinting

Let me see if I understand this... did you get prices for tinting the entire car and it's $199 with 5 cars? I guess I'm having trouble understanding the price break down.. What do the other two prices mean?

Don't know how far away Mainstreet in Manchester is from you but there's a place called Total Tints out there where they did a fantastic job on my 8. Seemless rear, and all my windows... $115 total with a 1 year warranty. I thought it was one hell of a deal. Looks excellent and only took about an hour to an hour and a half.

That is a really good price.... will definitely look into it.
The ah... drunken guy combined with the 'I told u so, should've let me just do it' abuse I received has delayed my desire for tint for some time.

Not good...
I'm going to go back and either have him redo them or get some money off. The only good window is the driver side. Both small windows have bubbles due to dust and the back window and passenger window have longer bubbles. I'm ticked...
But I do like the tinted look!

I'm debating between a straight-forward tint of the two side and the one rear window, and having the front-side windows tinted and having the rear three replaced with tinted ballistic glass; but I'm having a lousy time finding a shop that can quote me price and weight for the glass work. Ideally, I'd like the tint on the driver's and front passenger's side windows done in something like vehicleguard (tints and makes the glass hold together in the event of an attempted break-in) but I want the light transmission levels legal for the state of Connecticut, even though I just passed my inspection last October and won't have to deal with any of that garbage for a while. I realise that this is a pretty esoteric modification that I want to make, and it might be more pricey than I can swallow; but I want to crunch the numbers before I make a decision, and I need to find a vendor in order to get a solid quote to be able to crunch the numbers. Is this a mod any of you have looked into or know of a suitable vendor for?

i haven't seent yours but just know that all tint jobs will have bubbles for a few days. mine had them as it dried out but was fine a few days later. of course i also did mine in the summer so it might take a few days longer now that it's cooler and will take longer for the sun to dry them.

I had a friend tint mine, he's been tinting for about 30 years now, needless to say the job was perfect! and he made sure there is a even 1/16th edge on both front windows... looks factory.
BUT you get what you pay for.... and he's not cheap.. and located in Framingham, MA
