Well here is a good post to start. Let hear about your fender benders / breakers...
I will start, driving home from work at about 5:30am when a dog wants to take a closer look at my beautiful car. Swerve to miss it, hit a curb and a sign.
Damage :
Split my front bumper below the Rotary symbol
huge scratch on passenger door
Buckled hood near corner of windshield
Dented/mangled two rims
Tore both tires
Scratches on front fender
Hole in front air dam w/ radiator fluid leaking
and finally both passenger doors hard to open
YAY for me

The insurance company will give you a recommended place to get a estimate on your vehicle. After the estimate, the insurance will give you a check for how much they think the repair will cost. With that money, you're free to spend it however you please.

this is why they say unless the object your trying to avoid will do MORE damage than possibly hitting a curb, other car, sign, tree ect that is on the side of the road...just hit it.
Things like dogs (most dogs...), cats, squirrels, snakes, lizards ect... I know its hard but just slow down as much as you can and take the hit, unless its a sure thing you can get around them...but even then...a scared animal is hard to predict, and you might hit it anyway.
Ive seen several small fender benders and 1 large roll over when people tryed to avoid a squirrel that ran into the road. I know its hard, i love animals...but one lady fliped her suv when she jamed on the brakes to avoid it...c'mon your in a SUV, just drive on and hope for the best.
Ive also seen people get rearended or side swiped when they tried to avoid animals...
now when your talking deer, moose, bear....large dogs, ect....thats a differnt ball game.
I had a buddy hit a moose in his F350...they both survived but the truck was totaled and they both were badly burned when the force of hitting the moose pushed the engine into the cab...and basicaly into their laps.
sorry about the luck!

Hahah... Ah~ That sucks. Hey, at least you got a definitive date on when you'd get your car back. I've been waiting four weeks in agony not knowing when I'd get it back... but finally got a call saying body work is done and its just getting painted.
So thinking about putting any bodykits on it with that money? ^^
P.S. My repairs costed 6500
