Good evening all, I hope someone can help.
I have an 07 RX8 231 model.
A few days ago we came to start our car and the battery had died. I wasn't too worried about this at the time because we had been on vacation for 3 weeks and the weather had been bad etc.
I removed the batter, fully charged and put back on the car. Sure enough it fired straight up and was perfect as always.
However, after not using again for a couple of days I went out to start it today and it would not turn over at all. All the dash light come on, the fan/radio etc all work but the engine will not turn over.
I have the correct key for the car, and I can remotely unlock and lock the doors fine.
I had a fiddle with the battery terminals and all seemed ok. I finally disconnected the battery and reconnected. As if by magic the car turned over and started just like normal.
I then stopped the car after a short while and once again it refused to start.
I disconnect the battery once again, reconnected and yeap, it started again.
I stopped the car once again and the same thing happens.
I am sorry to be a pain, but has anyone any idea why this might be ?
Would it be a relay or something sticking and when I disconnect and reconnect the battery it somehow makes the relay work for one time ?
Any help greatly appreciated.
Thanks.

Greetings!
Sounds like your battery is off line/faulty. Go to a garage to check the health of your battery. If no joy, read the Club forum for new members. Tons of info from fellow members at your disposal.
Good luck.

Thanks for the info. I don't think it is the battery, as when I remove the leads and reconnect is starts fine as always... then when I come to restart it wont turn over unless I first remove the battery lead again and reconnect..
maybe an immobiliser issue ? I really have no clue now....
cheers

I had a battery replaced once, and the terminals on the new one were (just barely) narrower than on the OEM battery. It felt like a solid connection, but the clamp was just loose enough on the terminal to not pull enough juice.
Double check that connection, and possibly get a smaller clamp connector. Worked for me.
