Unhappy 2004 radio mash up - please help

sooo ... i just purchased my first rotary mazda and LOVE IT !! been wanting one since i was 16 but 38 isnt too late right ? lol
BUT the radio sucks . the guy i bought it from sold mazdas only out of a garage and he buys junk ones and makes good ones to sell out of the junk ones . SO the headunit is supposidly bose (but does not say bose on the fromt) and all the other speakers are non bose as they were stock . he said he just put the head unit in from a bose car . from what i understand the bose head unit is NON powered and it uses the amp for all the speakers and also outputs at .5 ohms so when i crank it to MAX it not only isnt loud it also sounds like crap . ( oh and the front door tweeters say bose on the covers but who knows , the speakers in the doors are def not bose as well as the rear) the harness has not been cut into and all wires are stock to all speakers in the NON BOSE system (only the head unit is bose) SOOO THE QUESTIONS ARE 1. can i hook an amp up to boost the .5 ohm signal with just an amp or do i need some other special equipment ? 2. if i can use an amp are ALL the speaker wires accessible under the passenger seat ? (including the front door and tweeter?)
thank you in advance n8 - Scorpion Glass
