2004 rx8 startup issues

2004 rx8 startup issues
My 2004 rx8 has issues starting up when it's hot outside and when it fails to startup, it throws an engine code for the crank shaft sensor. Anyone know what could be causing this? In moderate and cold weather, it starts up just fine
