2005 with really low mileage, but never driven hard

So there is a chance I might get an '05 with really low miles on it, I heard it has less than 7,000. Also, the car has not been driven hard at all since it was owned by an elderly lady (probably in her 70s), and yes, it is a manual transmission. My question is whether the engine would be fine in this case, or is it possible that really easy driving and very infrequently means that troubles may be ahead? I figure I would pony up for a compression test, though the dealer might look at me funny with such low miles.

A 70 year old lady that owns a 2005 rx8 with 7k miles with manual transmission is very strange...lol

Anyway, we wouldn't know the condition of the engine until the compression test. Don't get fooled by the low mileage, the compression can be low as well...

remeber that old commercial where the old lady sells her dead husbands Lambo for $250.
Test drive it, then buy it.

I bought mine last year from an elderly couple, 2004 with 23k miles was in showroom condition. You should be fine, just get compression check.

Lol should we start a seniors citizen rx8 club? I seen an old lady driving a velocity red in whittier before I purchased mine.. Haha. My advice on ur purchase. Get the compression test if its good then welcome to the club read all the new member ishh. Or how about read the info first, then make ur purchase...when ur done with that study rotory. Ur gonna need it.

@ rev fast,
Ask the lady to demonstrate the car, this way you learn more about her driving habits and warming up of the engine and ??? and you are better informed about the car's driving history......(warning: could be that you get out of the Rex pale and sick from her cornering etc.).
By the way, I am 70 too, male, my 231 HP-manual, purchased 2009 has 20.000 mls now........my other cars are a 1989 Classic Saab 900c (100.000 mls) and a 1990 Lotus Esprit Turbo SE (30.000 mls, owner since 20 years).........plus 2 motorbikes; Honda Goldwing GL1000 K1 (1975) and Yamaha SRX 600 (1990)...........

Unfortunately she's in no shape to drive...hence the potential sale. I'll update once I get some more info.

By the way, nice choice of cars...I always loved the Esprit.
