I am new to this forum, so I am not sure if this is old news.


To All 2005 RX8 Owners. Call your local Mazda dealer and get your new engine installed. It's sad that the dealers will not call you to make you aware of this recall. I just happened to learn of the recall because my engine was not turning, so I had it towed to the nearest Mazda dealer.

Not only is it old, but it's not even true. There was an emissions recall, 4206f, under which engines were tested and replaced under warranty if they failed a vacuum test. But there was never a "come get your free engine" recall.

The 8 year extended engine warranty is now expired for 2005 models, unless you got one that sat unsold until after this date in 2006.
