2007 RX 8 no compression on rotor 1
#27
Well I'm hoping for the best lol, this engine only has about 20 thousand kms on it. It was new engine from Mazda covered under warranty. Car was driven out west, about 8000 km, putted around there and drove home about 8000 km. So at most 20,000 on this engine.

Call me crazy but maybe your just not getting spark or fuel to front rotor. Could have been flooding over and over in the last times you were driving it . Have you checked coils, plugs and wires in the front rotor. If it runs with or without them hooked up then maybe they are bad. I would imagine even with no/low compression at higher rpm it would fire and drive. (higher rpm = more compression). Am I way off or do I have somthing. im Just thinking outside the brap box.

That is true but what if the cause of the current situation was one or more coils or plugs. Therefore if the op got spark back there and started it. (and the seals are present) it could come back to life. Again just a theory.

Here are a couple examples from engines I've had around. The first image is a damaged rotor, with the apex seal pinched in place so that it can't move and hold compression. It shoes the apex seal well.
The second image is a healthy seat and seal.
Apex seal seat damaged due to over-rev. Rotor crashed into housing, pinching the seal, causing low compression.
Healthy Apex seal and seat.

So I took all the plugs out, had someone turn the engine over slow 2 of the apex seals are there but stuck, one is gone. Explains the compression loss. No point in going any further with this engine. Thanks for all the replies guys.
