Reading about being a new owner was a wealth of information. Getting a compression test now high up on my list, as well as new coils, wires and plugs. I was a little confused about decarboning the rotors. To me rotors were always part of the wheel assembly. I imagine this process involves keeping the engine running while water/meth or seafoam is poured or introduced somehow into the engine? Via pulling the plugs as the entry points? Please correct me if I am wrong. I do however give it a hard running briefly once or twice a week, as well as letting these wankels warm up in the morning, even here in Florida. All in all an excellent read which I'm sure I will refer back to many times.

holy crap! that was 14 years ago now...

Metra kit is nice, I have tinkered with swapping out the head unit for something newer that I can run android auto on...
jedi, that is a serious install!!! Those W6s pound! You obvioisly took the head unit out, so my question is how did you runnRVAs from the amp? Did you do line conversion? I like the look of the Metra aftermarket double DIN kit just the price point is outrageous at $140 to $180 and I don't believe there is any other kit out there that has all the necessary wiring harnesses for the steering wheel as well as the rest of them. I did see the basic plastic double DIN kit fairly cheap for around thirty bucks and it looks like it had your basic speaker wires and power wires but my concern would be losing control over the air conditioning heater Etc. If there is another kit, please don't keep it to yourself LOL. But yes I'm definitely interested in how you ran your amps to the stock head unit.

Jedi, I did just see that you ran a line output converter. This may be an option that I would seriously consider looking at cause I'm sure it is much cheaper than the Metra kit. I wonder if it would work which I would imagine that it would on the non Bose head unit that's in my car. I do have amps for the for aftermarket speakers that I already installed in the doors which are all Boston Acoustics. I guess I could run line converters to both amps, or just to one app because one of the amps has RCA pass-throughs that would connect both amps together one being the subwoofer amp that's 800 watts RMS it's a single mono amp bridged into one channel and the other amp is going to run the four-door speakers as well as the two six by nines in the back. I have a little cigarette lighter adapter that I plug my SD card in with all my music that I'm sure I could still use that Tunes to a local channel and it feeds the music through that channel.

Hey Guys, well my girlfriend and I just came back from the grocery store with a trunk full of stuff and as we got home I had her get out and I slowly went over the dip in the road where there is a pretty deep drain and it almost always makes a noise there. I did this three or four times with her basically having her head plastered to the wheel. The good news is absolutely nothing is rubbing or even coming close to rubbing anywhere on either Tire. The bad news is the sound kind of a screeching grinding sound is definitely coming from the coil / strut area. So that tells me that either the coils or the struts themselves are bad. Not the end of the world because this is a job along with a friend that I'm pretty confident we can do ourselves. I also definitely want to replace the NGK plugs which from what I read under the new owner thread there are two different sets of plugs so I will go ahead and get those the coil packs and the wires. I'll do some research and choose a brand that is quality without obviously Breaking the Bank. My project for tonight is installing the two Sylvania Ultra low beams and replacing my low beams to see if they are any better or any wider. Thanks to the new owner thread I also went ahead and checked the oil which I normally do frequently but I think I will do a little more frequently now that I have read that and it was down a little bit not too much but I went ahead and top it off and maybe overfilled it just a touch. I use the 5 W 30 oil I had in the garage and I also had some synthetic as well and I think I did read that you can mix the two but I would rather just stick the one for the time being. Again I really wanted to thank you guys for helping a new brother out. I greatly appreciate it and look forward to seeing some of your vehicles in the future!

jedi, I took a page out of your book my friend and went on Amazon last night and picked up a fairly good quality line output converter for about 50 bucks and actually has 5 channels which is more than I need but I guess it gives me some options in the future I'm just running four speakers plus the one subwoofer in the trunk. $50 is a far cry from the $150 Metra Kit, and I can connect my backup cam directly to my cell phone via Bluetooth.
