Aloha from Kauai, no power steering!
Hi everyone, I am a new owner of an RX8 with AT (sadly). But they are hard to find around here so I am stoked. The car has 85k miles.
I've owned many RX-7's in the past, mostly first gen, so am familiar with the rotary motor and it's "quirks".
My power steering is not working. I've read pages and pages of the "power steering failure" thread. I have asked some questions on that sticky thread but no one is replying so I thought I would post here. Here is what I have done:
Cleaned the two connectors - still no change
Soldered the 3 torque sensor wires, still no change.
My mechanic said he is not showing any voltage reading on the two thicker power wires. My question is:
When should there be voltage showing on the wires? (when the key is "on" car started, etc)
How much voltage should be showing?
Could this be why I have no power steering? Please advise.
Thank you in advance for your replies.
