Looking to purchase 2009 RX8, 112000 miles.

A lot of uncertainty with this purchase simply because he lives a state away which brings its own challenges. Car appears to be in good to excellent shape, and seller states car is mechanically sound. He's asking for 6000 or to make an offer. The seller is a mechanic and owner of a mechanic shop and states he has 7 cars and needs to get rid of some, and will use the money to turbo his rx7. Ive asked for compression numbers and he hasn't given them yet, and I'd like a unbiased mechanic to look at it but he seems reluctant, he says hes been a rotary mechanic for 11 years and the car is fine. Carfax data stops in 2017, and he states that he doesn't have service records because it hasn't needed anything other than oil changes, fresh plugs. Transmission fluid, coolant, and differential.

Thoughts, comments, advice or concern?
I'd love if a current member could go test drive it or look at it. And if you have ability to compression test I'd prefer that over his numbers. If anyone is willing to help me by being a middle man im willing to have a discussion to compensate you for your time or something of that nature.
