AP Tune - A bit confused with what my options are

Given that I have not yet me the criterion to post in the aftermarket section, I will do so here. I am quite interested in purchasing an AP and tune for my new (used) RX-8, but see quite a bit of conflicting (mostly negative) commentary on MazdaManiac - and I'm not 100% comfortable sending him ~$600 for an AP that could take anywhere from 2 weeks to 2 months to arrive, and then dealing with his unaccommodating schedule for tuning.

To that end...are there good alternative options for tunes via the AccessPort (other than doing it myself)? I don't have total confidence (or time) to feel comfortable doing my own tune, and would love to know if there are others like MazdaManiac who could help me out remotely, for a fee of course.

I've searched and most of the info is dated, so I thought I'd post here.

Thanks all in advance.

MazdaEdit is the other option. See the MazdaEdit thread in the tuning subforum.
