B1484 = 3rd eye brake light short?!?
I just wanted to pass along something odd I had to repair this week. My ABS light came on, and the code was B1484 (Brake Pedal Input Open Circuit). Nothing was wrong with the pedal, but I found a post on a UK site that suggested there might be an issue with the 3rd brake light wiring on the trunk lid. Sure enough, that light was out and the wire was broken where it runs along the trunk hinge. One self soldering butt connector later and the ABS light was fixed. I'm not sure how or why a broken wire in the lighting system could cause a ABS failure, but I just wanted to post it here in case it happens to anyone else.

Yep, had to repair mine too. It didn't trigger a code, but I've heard of that happening as well. The brake light stopped working and trackday inspection picked it up. It seems like if you use your trunk often, it will eventually fatigue the wires. Maybe depending on which wire it is you may get a code or not.

You k ow what's funny? My 2011 frayed within a few weeks of my ownership! One day we noticed the hi-stop just didn't light up anymore and the wired frayed. I used electrical tape to make sure the leads were safe. A few months later I check it again, and my electrical tape has burned through. Huh.
No ABS issues, however.
