Best Supercharger to install?

I have a 2009 rx8 and trying to figure out what the best option to install into it: a supercharger or turbo supercharger? I've heard that you shouldn't put a supercharger into it because it can mess with the transmission... Is that true?

WHAT does boost have to do with the trans? you will have a hard time boosting a renny to the point of trans failure. i have friends with both turbo and s/c 8s on factory trans. being a s2 8 you need to look into mazda edit for tuning but first you have a ton of reading to do before you ask anymore dumb questions

Uhm there's no need to be rude. It was a statement that I heard and I was sure it wasn't a fact, just a clarification. You need to have an attitude change before becoming a part of forum. Have a nice day

Mod edit....F bombs are not allowed. You are more than welcome to think them. ..just leave them out of your posts

There is a search function at the top of the page that is useful. Use it and stop wasting our time on a subject that has been covered many times. It is not our fault that you fail to do your homework before posting some dumb **** like that.

If you do not like what we have to say then waiting for a reputable member to chime in and they will say the same damn thing. So by all means please leave your head up your ***.

"Best" is subjective. I think it's "best" to eat crispy bacon. Does that make it right?

Do as the others have said and do your homework. Read through other members' build threads to get an idea.

But as the others have said, don't expect people to answer basic questions for you.

Happy burfday OP,

OP it would help if you listed what kind of tranny you have auto or stick and what kind of power overall your looking for.
Oh and like LH said do your home work, the stock tranny will take more power than a stock renny can before you blow some seals

Thank you for being kind AND informative. To clarify, I was more asking of pros and cons. I've just heard and saw research on superchargers affecting the crank shaft. I've seen cracked crankshafts because of the use of superchargers in a renny .

8s dont have a crankshaft. happy bday btw. my buddy keck03 (member here) has a pettit s/c as did my buddy slvrstreak. a lot of people here have turbos which is much more common. s/c choices are limited to basically pettit and hymee, the pettit is no longer made and the hymee requires a ton of extra work plus the s2 8s just recently got tuning options. search the major hp threads

Im not trying to sound like an *** right now, but you are aware that the RX8 had a wankel rotary engine and has no pistons valves or crank shaft.

I am still a new owner, and you're not coming off as an ***. I know about the rotary having no pistons and working off of compression with 3 major moving parts. I did not know about about the crankshaft.

If you ever watch any video by the boys from P.P.R.E they call the eccentric shaft(e-shaft) a "crank shaft" all the time.

Well, I mean, if you want to be pedantic... The e-shaft is effectively a crank shaft.

LOL, that would be a totally self-indulgent and sacrilegious maneuver on my part designed to **** EVERYBODY off at some future SevenStock. In the meantime, I just want to finish building my new shop so I can build my 440 into a 505...... :-)

Then I can set about building that 383 into a 496.......

But, before that, I have about 5-6 engines worth of Renesis parts that I should probably build and offer up..... as well as resuming taking engine builds.

Geez, this new shop is going to be a headache as I really do not want to work so hard..... LOL

Guys...try and keep it clean and maybe give the newbs a bit of slack

To the newbs. ... please try and answer your questions by doing a bit of research first. If you ask specific questions you will get much more specific answers as well.

I feel ya man, most of these rotor dinks forget that they too were noobs once. And just cause they**************** they would like to return the favour. You know like an initiation. Reading up here helps but most of it is jargon. And it's difficult for a noob to separate fact from fiction. You actually got off lucky, you didn't get called out by a one eyed wobbly sausage that uses big words to try and intimidate you, I mean sure it does justify unpaid student loans, but it just tarnishes the image of the rx8 owner. Makes us look worse than Beemer owners. I'll be sure to give you the straight goods without the sodomy. After all if we love this car, we should stick together. #rx8livesmatter
