Brand new member and looking at reviews on getting a 04 rx8
HI GUYS!
im fairly new here, obviously... okay, so here's where im gonna start....
the RX7 has been my dream car since I was 5 years old, and getting an RX8 is the closest thing to ever living that dream.. im just worried about these damn rotary motors which is such a badass motor and just the sound it makes is unreal... ive heard some bad reviews from a couple of friends dads. but most of them dont really know anything about the motor as to why theyre blowing up on them. they just bought the car just cos the miata was too small and the rx8 has a better reputation than a miata ahahha... Im looking at an 04 rx8 with about 150, 000km in it... what would be a reason not to get it?

Read through the links posted in my SIG. The new and potential owners thread is a must for all.
You need to get a ROTARY SPECIFIC compression test done to see where the motor health is at.

If you're looking for reasons not to get one they would be bad gas mileage, expensive to maintain, hard to find a mechanic other than the dealer, so far mine seems to be having a lot of small issues that are common with the rx8 only one that hasnt been simple to fix is the oil leak and power steering, but these cars don't just blow up for no reason they have to have a little extra work put into them. mine is at 135000 miles not sure what that is in km but thats the original motor and it's still kicking so it pretty much is how they are maintained
