Hi guys,
I have been a long time reader (4 years) but haven't posted much. I've been daily driving my 2006 shinka to this point, but now changed the vocation of the car to summer toy / track car. In order to monitor properly what's going on with the engine on the track, I went with Défi gauges monitoring the Water temp, Oil temp and Oil pressure. One of the gauge pod I really liked was the RE Amemiya, which had a nice offset and angled surface for each gauge, but the orientation was RHD only.
I ended up making my own from a 3D model, to a 3D printed part and finally molded above the center display. I will make a topic on this showing the steps I took, but I need to get my post count up before.
Here's a picture of what it looks now with cell phone pics:

I haven't considered making more of them since the process of mating the 3d printed part with the OEM part is very time consuming (bondo, resin, primer, etc...)
I'm not sure how financially viable it can be since the 3D cluster would cost around 130$ to 3D print in ABS, add to that the cost of a stock center console plus the consumables (bondo, resin, paint, etc...). I would have to look into it, but it would not be cheap that's for sure.
I ran at St-Eustache a long time ago with my old accord, but with the RX8, I've only been 2 times to Icar and really liked the track. I'm still thinking over if I'll be going to lapping nights or attending full days.

What I could do is make the CAD file available so that anyone with a good set of skills could build it themselves. All you need to do is source someone in your area that 3D prints ABS parts, which is becoming more and more common now days. I know it's not everyone that has the time and place for a project like this but still...

Saint-Eustache is kinda dinky, I'm not a fan and it's hard on the car. If you like ICAR, come to Tremblant with BMW or Viper clubs! :o
I used to live in West Island, in Saint-Laurent now. I'll keep an eye out for a Shinka :o
+1 for CAD file!
I have a roll of CF and resin that need a home.
