Remove the cat and physically inspect it, this part might just be a scratch from the road. The cat has a metal shroud thing.
get the code read, if it is P0420 then your cat is dead and after you remove it if the problem persists you might have a OMP problem.
if there’s no code then your OMP is malfunctioning, if it is P1688 or similar, your OMP is malfunctioning.
OMP code is manufacture specific so not all code reader can read it.

thanks!
i have the code p1688..
Can I do anything before I get a mechanic to replace the omp?
i took the cat out, it was completely cleaned and gutted.. haha
i got the obd2 code, it was p1688..
What now..?
This would explain why you cant rev above 5k. The car is currently in limp mode. Check out this thread for solutions. OMP pumps rarely fail mechanically. Likely the switch or wiring is the issue. Good luck.

I'm glad I don't have this problem or I'd be seriously frustrated. There does not appear to be any clear instructions on resetting the MOP and sensor , which is a must if the two have gotten out of sync. No DIY for it that I can find.
Or maybe I just suck at using the search engine. I've seen recommendations to PM Dannobre, apparently he knows how to do this.
Best of luck.
