Btw, still on fence regarding selling it. I may not get complete return for the extra $1000 I put into it but I think it needs it and will benefit the life of the engine. Also I am still below blue book so I shouldn't have trouble getting my $ back. This car is low miles and very good condition.

Some other maintenance items to do at 30k miles (from RX8 club maintenance schedule, which is more comprehensive than Mazda's schedule)

30,000 miles:
- Replace Ignition coils
- Replace Plug wires
- Replace Spark plugs
- Clean MAF (mass air flow sensor)
- Clean ESS (e-shaft sensor)
- Reset ESS profile
- Clean power steering connections
- Clean battery terminals and clamps
- Replace transmission fluid
- Replace coolant (Mazda FL-22 is highly recommended)
- Replace air filter
- Replace brake fluid (fluid in the brake lines AND the clutch line)
~$300 USD in parts if you shop smartly.

Battery has already been replaced, but I have considered that when I install the Sohn Adaptor would be a good time to change radiator fluid as well.
I need to read about MAF again after I pull the air cleaner.

quick update, I have yet to install the foam around radiator. Maybe this week. however It is still winter here in WY and the Engine hasn't had any concerns of too much heat.

My coils and Sohn adaptor have been installed. running a high performance Lucas 2 Cycle Oil into the adaptor. I have added two ounces for premix at fill up, but question the need and benefits.

And now....As much as I enjoy the car, it may be listed for sale in the classifieds here if I have ability to post. I have recently invested in another project that requires more $.

really odd.. after all that work you're going to sell it? make sure whoever you sell it knows about the SOHN. that's quite a leap for most folks... remembering to keep the reservoir filled.

You sure you're in the latter group after all? Hell in no time at all you customized your 8 more than 90% of the peeps out there.

Circumstances changed and New priorities come with that. However if I manage to keep it I wont complain. Any new owner will be solicited on the benfits of the Sohn. Besides, I don't think this is a car most soccor moms would be in market for.

If it sells I will not be so tight on completion of my other project. If not I will be content with having my adaptor and new coils. I will also be running RP oil at my next change as well.

RP is a waste of good money. Mobil1 will do just fine.

I suppose it may be, but I expect the price difference is insignificant compared to the low mpg, so it isn't really the most economical car to begin with.
