Buying a rx-8 with a broken Throttle Body
Hi guys, i'm pretty new here and would like so information on the following:
I'm looking a RX-8 that doesn't start, the owner says it has good compression but the Throttle Body is broken.
Could this be true?
How would I check for this?
Where I live there is nobody doing compression tests and since it doesn't drive and I don't have or know anyone with a obd2 scanner, I can't read the codes off of it.
It is really cheap, which is why i'm considering to buy it.
I appreciate your help!

Throttle body failure would be rare and you would get codes. If you want to check it to see if it works just remove the the intake and take a look.
And get a compression test.
And get a compression test.

Where do you live?
I bought a barely running rx8 and it was also cheap. I know a bit about cars and had to replace a lot of items and eventually the engine after I got about 5,000 miles out of it racing. But now the car is awesome after a lot of work. body is in great shape.
so be prepared for the worse, and hope for the best?

Yeah, I don't buy the "Broken Throttle Body" story. Check it out as said and get that compression checked.
