Buying a used 2004 RX-8

Hello,
I am currently looking to buy a used 2004 Mazda RX-8 and I was wondering if anyone had any tips on inspecting and checking the car out before I buy it. Any advice is appreciated in advance.

compression test at a mazda dealer. check for wrecks and normal stuff you would check on any other car. make sure it has all the current flashes. are you buying from a dealer or private? auto or mt? mileage?

Here's a good start, add a compression test to the list: http://www.popularmechanics.com/cm/p...-checklist.pdf

It is from a local dealer. I am assuming it was a trade in. From the pictures provided the interior is in great shape, same with the exterior.
Here is the autotrader link.

The other one I am looking at is

This has a few more miles, but I like the color more.

again only a mazda dealer can do a propper compression test on a rotary engine unless its a rotary shop. most dealers do not have the tool to do the test. at those mileages you should get a comp test.

It's always a must when buying an rx8, so that you know the engine's condition. Even when the mileage is low or high, newer or older, get a compression test, just to make sure.
