Buying a used RX-8

Hey guys, thought I'd come to the RX-8 people to ask a few questions. I'm possibly buying an RX-8 soon, as my Tiburon GT had a recent accident so I figured it was time to go with a rwd car. The RX-8 appeals to me because the look, power, and price. I was looking for something RWD (much better than fwd) for the occasional drift event. I understand they aren't the best for drifting, but a 2 way locking diff should help with that as I've read. Once my car is fixed (done next week) I have two or three options.

1. Sell the Tiburon for $6,500 to a guy who is very interested in it. Then buy a 2004 RX-8 for the same price. The catch? The Black RX-8 has some body dents, been stored. The owner said he had flooded it once, he didnt seem to know why it flooded, but he took it to a shop and had it deflooded and the whole 9 yards to insure it would work. That was 3 years ago. He has changed the oil every 4,000km with 5w30 Oil (not sure if that's synthetic or non) and he removed the catalytic converter due to it clogging up (shows he hasnt redlined it once a day when driven due to carbon buildup?) Its only got 115,000 km on it which is very low, and was always stored for the winter. Sounds like a great deal except I have only one reference picture of the car due to it being stored. And that picture is blurry so its hard to see but it looks completely stock.

2. Another fellow selling his RX-8 is considering a straight trade of my Tiburon for his 2004 Matte Red RX-8. His is listed a $10,000 and has 165,000 km on it. He had it plasti dipped matte red by a shop, and claims it cost $3,000. Now he is either trying to upsell his car, or the shop ripped him off, because I know from experience plasti dipping a car only costs $500 at most. The plus side is that this guy knows how to treat a rotary engine, he's never flooded it, always put a little bit of oil in the gas every fill up, and same oil changes as option 1. He even said that every shut off he would bring the rpm's up to 3,000 then turn the ignition off to ensure there was oil in the engine. But I read that this was only necessary if you had to shut it off while cold.
The additions to this car are the plasti dip, HID headlights, touch screen audio deck, racing beat exhaust, radar detector and jammer (dont worry that is surprisingly legal here), mazdaspeed intake, slotted rotors, command start, and a new clutch with paperwork from Mazda. This one is obviously the more feature full, but option 1 is more likely to happen I feel.

3. Option three is to sell my tiburon and look for a different RWD car. But I prefer options 1 and 2.

Any input is greatly appreciated, oh and both cars are 6 speed manual. Thanks for the help and sorry for the long read!

Have you read the new owner's thread?

I was going to address each point of misinformation in your post but there are just too many things to correct, and I don't really have the interest in doing so right now.

I will read that now, thanks! Besides the misinformation that I had, can you insight which would be the best one just going off the info that the current owners gave me that is.

I can't make that call, because there aren't any compression numbers provided for each. I don't like the info on either, but if one has 8s on compression, it immediately becomes quite a bit more viable.
