Got my engine rebuilt last week - not happy to see another CEL but I guess it’s just part of the process.
Just went through a three day heatwave in the Pacific Northwest, ended up melting both of my sun visors in half, both no longer stay in place, I’m hoping it didn’t damage anything else.
turned on my car today to go to work and the check engine popped on. I have my cat and my car is largely stock other than the intake.
anyways - the question is:
Will I damage anything if I keep driving? I couldn’t find any information other than the possibility of a clogged cat or dying air pump.
Is this the only code it read? It could be minor or it could be serious. Clogged cat symptoms always cause a performance issue of some kind in my experience. Also, if it's glowing red hot after a long drive it is likely to be the issue.

yep, only code I have. I haven’t noticed any difference in performance. I think it’s more likely that my air pump is going out, but I’m still unsure how important that is.

Its important to keep the cat's health in shape. It won't cause any performance issues but can damage the cat over time.
it has absolutely nothing to do with the cat converter; it’s being detected pre-cat
May depend on which model year you have, but at least on the 2004-2005 there was no P0411, it’d be P0410 indicating a failing/bad air pump which you already noted. It simply adds air to the exhaust system during cold start up for about 2 minutes to try and reduce the the rich exhaust smell and also heat the exhaust system up faster for effective emissions control.

I have personally associated this code with clogged cats. Your information is correct, but the reason for the code tripping can possibly be the exhaust gasses causing the improper flow due to the cat being clogged. It doesn't always mean this is the case but when this code ever pops up, it's worth taking the cat down to inspect it in my experience. Also, I can't believe not having the air pump working is good for the cat's health over a long period of use.

assuming that you are correct, and it is a clogged cat, would a de-cat be a good solution?

It depends if emissions laws where you live will allow it. Also, a decat will make the car significantly louder and may have the side effect of attracting unwanted attention of the police. There is the option of an aftermarket cat but because where I live has no emissions laws, I can safely run a decat. Because of this, I can't really recommend a good replacement because I've never personally had to worry about it. You're best off dropping the cat and inspecting the honeycomb for any signs of damage or clogging. It could honestly just be the air pump or plumbing for it has failed.
