Choosing the Right Wheel and Tire Size

Hey guys, I've had my 8 for a few months now and it's now time for me to get some aftermarket wheels. This is my first real car that i've spent money to mod, and I need help in selecting wheel and tire size, as I don't want to get screwed by buying things that wont fit.

and before you guys ask, yes, I have searched numerous forums, but none of them provides me with the confidence to go out and buy wheels and tires already. So if you guys could help out a fellow member out, I would appreciate it a lot.

I'm looking to get the Enkei RPF1 Staggered
Possible dimension choices are :

18x8.5 front, 18x9.5 rear
OR
18.9.5 front, 18x10.5 rear

Either one depending on what you guys think about which is the best fitment .

and the tire size I have no idea what to get so if you guys have any suggestions.

** ALSO IMPORTANT NOTE: I recently got some Stance SS coilovers and will be installing them probably this week and lower my car about 1 inch-1.5 inch, as soon as they send me the **** extenders, which they forgot to include in the package

I literally just googled RX-8 wheel size and this was the first result.

https://www.rx8club.com/series-i-whe...et-here-21517/

It has the recommended wheel and tire size and this is just my own opinion but I do not recommend staggering the RX-8. It has no practical application (these cars are not drag racers) but if you just like the look of staggered wheels then that's a subjective debate.

The rx8 already has slight under steer. Staggering is only going to exacerbate that problem. But if you don't like curvy roads and just want the looks, to each his own.

Those are pretty popular wheels and many 8 owners have discussed fitment to death. If you want to know for sure, use the rim estimator in the tools menu at the top of the page. It will tell you how much further your new setup will stick out. Measure from your stock wheels to where you want to be and use the calculator to find the right size wheel/tire to get you there.

Choices, choices lol. Performance over looks. I guess your right about that. I don't want to come out with worse performance than stock wheels and suspension
