Clicking from engine when accelerate hard
Hi all! This doesn't seem like the best place to post this but for some reason I can't post anywhere else even though I've been a member (mostly lurking) for years.
So for the last few months when I accelerate hard, usually from a full stop, I get a rapid clicking sound. It happens when the engine is cold but also after warmed up substantially. It occasionally happens when I'm accelerating to pass.
Here is a short video showing the dash and also captures the clicking sound pretty well:
...and now I can't get my video link to post correctly...sorry guys, you'll have to use your imagination #*$&^@it

Sounds like it is in the interior...... under the dash? That's a strange one.
Likely a relay in the transmission control module. I dont know much about the AT cars... hopefully someone can chime in here about it.
Does it run normally otherwise? Maybe manually put it in 3rd and rev it a bit higher and see if it clicks. Might be something with trying to shift

A little more info - it's a 2005 with about 80,000 mile but it did get a new engine (recall) at around 35,000 - not that I was having any issues at that point.

It really sounds too clear to be under the hood on the video. If it that clear and loud you might want to get it put up and checked out. It's definitely not a normal noise. Does it keep doing it if you force the revs up in a manual shift mode? Or is it only in that rpm band?
