Clutch pedal stuck to floor after replacing clutch due to throw bearing

So my clutch pedal is stuck on the floor. Took it to a mechanic and they said my master cylinder is leaking fluid. Just curious if replacing this would solve the problem of the clutch pedal having no pressure. Plz help!!

It depends on what the problem is. The clutch system could just need to be properly bled. I assume your mechanic is not a mind reader so how did he diagnose the problem without actually trouble shooting it?

He did try bleeding it. No luck there. That's when he noticed that the master cylinder is leaking fluid on the inside of my car. So I guess what I'm asking is would the master cylinder possibly be the cause of my pedal not coming up. Oh also, the gears are grinding. This car has been a pain in the *** this month.

Well yeah if you have fluid on the firewall inside the vehicle them the clutch master cylinder is bad.

Right I understand that; I was just asking (since everyone seems to know a lot about these Rx-8s) if that would be the reason why my clutch pedal has no pressure and is sticking to the floor. I'm not familiar with everything on cars so sorry to sound dumb lol

Yes, that would definitely be the reason.

The clutch is a B**ch to bleed in this car. Easiest way is to use a pressure bleeder. If it was working before you had the clutch replaced..they may have removed the slave line and it could just need bleeding.

If the master is leaking into the car....I would change it out for a preventive thing.

A poorly bled or adjusted clutch will cause issues with the clutch disengaging...so grinding gears would be expected

^ This. I installed a speed bleeder on the clutch slave and it helps a lot.
