A code and a over heating car
I'm new here just bought my second RX8 the other day. It came with a couple of issues. The codes I initially had were, P2259, P00, P0411, P0410. Now my understanding was since they were linked to "secondary air injection systom control B" I went ahead and switched the middle solenoid. But looking at a couple of diagrams I realized what I should have changed was the first top solenoid. Or from what I've seen in diagrams the blue solenoid.
My question for this is, are all these solenoids interchangeable so I can just replace that solenoid with the one that I already pulled out?
Second issue is, the other day I had driven maybe 10 minutes to the gas station but since there was a line I had to sit and wait for gas. During this wait of about 10 more minutes I noticed the A/C started blowing warm and my gas light was on. I just figured maybe the cars just shutting off the A/C to save gas. I filled up the car halfway and went to start it up again. And it wouldn't start. The car wasn't overheating or anything I just figured maybe fuel pump is clogged. I waited and hour and it started up eventually. The next day I was detailing my car, because I was concerned with the A/Car getting warm in idle I decided to leave the car on as I detailed to monitor the cars temp and A/Car temp a little closer. I'd say maybe 20 minutes in the A/Car was blowing warm, so I went to the front of the car to check out everything under the hood. Holy crap the hood was unbearably hot so was everything under the hood in the engine compartment. I went and to the inside of the car and noticed the temp needle was over the mid point. I turned off the car and figured okay this is a good chance to test start up on a hot engine. The car started right up so I don't think I have a compression issue. I grabbed my obd reader and got coolant temp of 234 °F, intake of 172 °F, AFR at 14.9:1. My engine was idle between 844-8-52 rpms. The only check engine light is the P2259.
I found it odd that the car doesn't have a code for the thermostat being tripped. Does it have a code for a thermostat? This is a 08 and my 07 mx5 trips a light for the thermostat.
Is this infact a thermostat or should I be looking else where?
Thanks in advance!!
